Halliday, You have got some nerve posting comments like these here. I personally disagree with the Nazi/Jewish related comments in response, but you have to expect repercussions when you show up here poking people with your Federally Funded stick! Especially under a topic so heated as this one!!! I’m sure you probably found this forum by searching for "Northwest Forest Pass violation" related items and it probably even has something to do with your work (I would be interested in why). You could have easily showed this to your supervisor without posting a heinous comment. For whatever reason you felt the need to stir things up here. I'm guessing it made you feel some sort of power. YOU are the one that took us down this road. If you were smart, you would have tried to help us understand the Forest Pass issues that are in discussion. Instead, you decided to abuse your position. I really dislike that you call yourself a steward of our lands.

I take it you never paid or appeared in court? I had an unpaid parking ticket end up on my DMV record. I couldn't renew my registration until I paid the ticket. I wonder what tools the Fee Demo folks have to force the money from your pocket...

I think it's very poor advice from a salesperson. If someone is asking questions like that of a salesperson then they likely aren't very experienced. I say, march in there and let ‘em have it!

I was crossing an "eroded gully" in the NC one summer that was one of those, "should we rope up?" areas. There just wasn't any way to protect it, so I pulled out my axe for stability and threw on my helmet. We had stopped to do some route finding and my left foot blew out on some talus. I dropped to my other foot which sprung me backwards. I would have tumbled once then dropped over a cliff. Instincts took over - I swung the axe into the talus/dirt as I was dropping to my foot and sunk it - it held! First and last time I've self arrested a real fall and it wasn't even on snow.
