Talked Old times with Tom Frost a few years ago (he hung out with my folks in Yosemite in the late 60's) Helped Kurt Smith move out of The Ranch in Potrero when things went down 2 years ago. Gave installation lessons on a recently purchased EntrePrise wall to Jim Bridwell in 1996. Alan Watts was my boss at EntrePrise. Hung out with Scott Milton and Fred Nicole last winter at Hueco for an afternoon. Wasn't climbing that day, just socializing and watching them. Talked with Scott quite a bit, Fred was quiet. Got up the nerve to introduce myself to Lynn Hill at a climbers party at that teacher's house in J-Tree. When I was 5 & 6 years old ('67 & '68), hung out in the climbers campground in Yosemite with Yvonne, Royal, Tom Frost, et al for a couple of summers. My mom worked as a baker, and would give them free bread, and my dad was a climber. Know Chad Kellogg pretty well. During the last good season at Hueco, was on first name basis with Todd Skinner. Also, bouldered with Tommy Caldwell a couple of times back then.

So, I called the BPD last night and they connected me to the Stateyz. The Stateyz gave me BPD's address and told me to turn it in during regular biz hours 9-4:30. I work 4-10's, so I won't get in 'til Friday, giving me a chance to listen to some of this stuff. This is not without irony. In the last 6 months I have been buying almost exclusively classical music (except for that Kool Moe Dee ). Thanks for the heads up on some of these. I give them a go first.

Ode To A Christmas Tree And so it begins: The season to chop and buy. Shopping, chopping: ever wonder why? Cut down and tied to fast-moving car. Not thinking of the kill, sporting tinsel and star. Symbolically speaking, not a good direction. It seems to add to disconnection. A source of life for you and me. Next breath may be harder because of that tree. In the season of giving, this year a living Christmas tree.

A cd case that was just sitting there. I stopped, picked it up, and recognized 1 freakin' cd out of a case with about $400 worth of cd's. I haven't listened to them yet, but has anyone heard of: Ginuwine? Tank? Room 112? Nas? AZ? Killah Priest? The Ownerz? Fabolous? Nick Cannon? Kurupt? RZA? Jesus fuck, the list just keeps going. Where's N by NW to clue me in? Am I getting old cuz I don't even recognize any of these names? Guess I better go listen to some of it. I am afraid, very afraid. Guess I'll put an ad in the lost and found....
