  2. I find while mountaineering when i have depleted all my reserves, and am running on nothing my mind rehashes things that make me angry to keep moving. This is the "motivation" that fuels my fire when nothing is left. I don't conciously do it, but this is my bodies natural response. However when rock climbing for me the essence is to be loose, and very free. When angry you trap your mind, and can't break frames. This for me is the sole fo rock-climbing. I don't climb when angry cause i just worsen the situation, and am wasting my time.
  3. Never really figured out how to fasten hinged crampons to the patch. Don't have bag for crampons, and have gotten very sick of packing them gently into the pack all the time. Any help would be much appreciated.
  4. very true. Pistatio's are the shit, and have tons of energy in them, however the real problem is getting the shells of without removing your gloves.
  5. oh yeah, body belay, under the leg, over the shoulder, down to the waist!! Complete self-reliance.
  6. climbed a few routes with an old schooler from yos. who used a bowline around the waist as a harness. You can also throw in two leg loops using the good ole' pretzle technique. Climb ON!!!
  7. Good reminder of trips in the past. Sometimes retreat is highly overrated! However on the trips that i didn't complete, the burning urge inside to go back is so strong i won't feel complete till i finish what i have started. Area south of Banff last fall. Got socked in in the middle of september in shorts and a t-shirt 15-20km back near mt. joffre. Waited the storm out for 4 days hoping for a clearing to climb northover ridge. To no avail had to head back the way i came. Always next year!
  8. Hell yeah!! When in that area you can just imagine in the old days when Broken Top was the king of the group. Jagged, and huge. Quite a powerful place.

  11. Heading to the CITY OF ROCKS this weekend. Leaving thursday night! Climbing Friday, saturday, sunday morning. Then driving back for school on Monday. Should be fucking sick.

  16. Some people are prescribed ganja for joint aches. I have been told that this can be very theraputic for muscle and joint ailments. Also try taking your arm behing your back, and raising you hand up the middle of your back. This is a good stretch for your rotator cuff. This is a common climbing ailment.
  17. bouldering in oakridge eh?? Can you say MOSSSSSSSSSSS!! try mountain biking in oakridge. However i hear there is some good rock like wolf and flagstone near cougar res.

  19. go hiking around the three sisters area just west of sisters. Find you own shit! Thousands of volcanic boulders. Sharp as a razor, but intriguing all the same!!
