  1. At what point did I say that the CDC report was valid? I'm just pointing out that catbirdseat did the research, and you have your head up your ass.
  2. Ummm, that's a document that was written 227 years ago. I supposed you also don't believe in messing with other important documents, such as "the earth is flat", and "blood-letting: a cure-all"
  3. Looks to me like you just used the classic "attack the source" tactic, and only speculated about its validity without any critical thinking of your own. Don't you think a more reasoned challenge to Scrambler's post would have involved some real investigation? Ahh, but then you're a scientist as you continually remind us all..... no critical thinking? he found out information about the guy who wrote the article and found out what the guy's personal agenda is! He actually had the intelligence to do the research and form an opinion of his own, which is a hell of a lot more than I can say for you.

Is that like breeding a monkey with 5 asses?
  5. I looked through the other thread, but it didn't really answer my question. I've heard that going in a hot tub after a really strenuous workout is a bad thing. Is this true? And if so, what's the threshold on how strenuous a workout needs to be before you shouldn't be going into the hot tub? How can you tell?
  6. 27 more cans and we can kick Cincinatti's ass!
  7. My top three: 3) Driving down to New Orleans from Albany, NY for Mardi Gras my senior year in college. Fixed the muffler on my friends car in Nashville with phone cord; a better fix than the ethernet wire. Before leaving New Orleans, we decided to do is right and got some chainlink. Mardi Gras is of course, another story. 2)Yosemite And of course the best one: Two years ago, loading up an '88 Honda Accord with my belongings and driving to Portland from Massachusetts so I could climb real mountains.

  9. college in Potsdam...
  10. Even if you have a GPS, you still need to have a map and compass (and more importantly, the skills to use them.) A GPS is just another aid, not an exclusive tool. That said, GPS's are great for navigating in a whiteout, finding camp in the dark, keeping track of where you've been, etc.
  11. mine would be tattooed on my ass "Excuse me ma'am, I'll have to see that license again."

  19. because bolts permanantly affect the rock! Sport climbing is neither a sport nor climbing! You're all losers and gay! (Note evasion of actual response)
  20. I also think TR's are a very good thing. They can do a lot of things for different people. For one person, it may give them information on a route they plan on doing. For another, it can be nice reading about people cranking harder than they every will. For a third person, it could open their eyes to a mountain or route they'd never considered before. For a fourth, it may help them relive some of their best days. On that note, I need to post more TR's!
  21. we were across it in an hour, I didn't think it was that bad!
  22. would Canada's Rememberance Day be more like Memorial Day here in the states?
  23. I'd believe Whitewater, but I haven't seen the Collier. I know I've seen reference to the Whitewater being the **** in Oregon, but I can't remember if it's the largest, longest, or something else.
