  1. A few weeks ago, the Northeast was getting hammered by snow. I fly to Boston, and not only is all the snow gone, but it's 50 degrees out. Now I find out that it's snowing in Portland. Oh well, I hope it sticks around until Tuesday, I've always wanted to go x-c skiing around Hoyt.
  2. ug, must avoid going to sleep until I sober up...
  3. When was everyone on Hood? I went up it on the 22nd, I didn't leave the parking lot until after noon and caught the sunset from the summit. Playing chicken with a snow cat while glissading on the way down was fun too (needless to say, I chickened out first.)
  4. Ball Butte?
  5. silicone film?
  6. $203 RT gets me to Providence, RI on Delta (cheaptickets.com) 200 clams to frankfurt could be worth some splurging... I need to find out how much I'll be gettin' for unemployment, then I can figure out if I could do it. And if I could do Mexico cheap, I'd climb Pico. Anyone else interested?
  7. don't forget the gaiters!
  8. I just looked at greyhound and amtrak, and it would be cheaper to fly across the country, thus the reason I'm looking to hop freight trains.
  9. 3 years old? holy crap! Wasn't the youngest in the club like 6 or so before that?
  10. Has anyone ever done it? Is it a viable option for getting across the country? (This needs to be a round-trip venture, I have every intention of returning to the NW.) I just found out that I have quite a bit of time on my hands for the next month, but no money.
  11. I had wondered what your avatar image was. It's all clearer now. I think that should become a gremlin somehow... (obviously we can't use the image directly)
  12. well, I just got laid off for four weeks, so I'm up for drinkin' whenever! It's just gotta be dirt cheap.
  13. I agree, RBW. Copious amounts of alcohol are in order.
  14. kick ass!
  15. I'm guessing the Portland store would also take them if you don't want to drive all the way up to Seattle
  16. Big vehicles have their uses, and some people who have them actually do use them for what they are intended. Trask, your method of using a pickup to haul stuff around, while driving a small car otherwise (a WRX, right?) makes perfect sense to me. However, I don't care what you tell me, no one needs an expedition to commute to work in town, and anyone who buys an h2, escalade, or navigator should be run off the road for being an idiot. I mean, their car can handle off-road driving, right?
  17. I downloaded a SNES emulator and am playing Chrono Trigger this week
  18. Yeah, you probably know them, they're in PMR. They offered to let me take a look at them (I haven't had a chance yet), so I'll post something again once I see them.
  19. Has anyone had any experience with RBH Designs? I've had them highly recommended to me by two friends who were on Logan a few years ago. She gets really cold hands and said they worked great, so I'm really tempted to get a pair. Also, does anyone know of any other small companies making warm gloves/mittens that people may not know about?
  20. Agreed! That kicks ass!
  21. No, the point is, you can't keep your mouth shut when you should. Take a moment and look at the number of people who tell you you're an idiot versus the number of people who support you. You'll find the results are rather lopsided.
  22. My fitness routine is as follows: In winter: I do something active on Saturday and Sunday, go hiking Tuesday evenings for 3 hours, and sometimes hike on Thursday. I try to pull on plastic once a week. In summer: 3-day climbing trips are the norm, then I also hike on Tuesday nights and usually hike or climb at least one other evening during the week. Year-round: I take the stairs whenever possible, and take long-cuts when walking. I'm young and use that to my advantage.
  23. nah, he's not good enough for us cracked, it may surprise you to know this, but you really don't know anything yet. You're too young. Yet you continue to post like you're an expert on everything. The fact that you can't even listen when people tell you this proves this.
  24. holy crap! a thread being moved out of spray?!?
