if you have a walkman (or some other tape source with a headphone jack), you can get an FM transmitter for $20-$30... Then you just tune your radio to whatever frequency your transmitter can do (a few of the cheaper ones have four different settings), and listen to whatever device you have the transmitter plugged into
just watch out for catholic stations that take over 3 of the 4 alloted stations

pics modified with this program look decent to me, but I was resizing to exactly half the original size (so it wasn't a hard conversion.)

µ = Alt + 0181
Phi can be approximated with "Latin letter O with Stroke", either small or large:
ø = Alt + 0248
Ø = Alt + 0216
Theta is non-existant in the Ariel realm...

that irfanview program is exactly what I was looking for to do batch resizing, thanx! (batch resizing is hidden in "advanced options" for those who can't find it, it took me a minute or two to find it)
reminds me of the far side where the guy is in a bear suit with an open zipper trying to decipher what the bears are saying. the guy eventually figures out the bears are saying "zipper"...
