    Snow Golf

I'm assuming they were using white water boats with hard chines...
  2. I've liked that sketch since I first downloaded it over a year ago...
  3. just a reminder, this is tonight
  4. Carbide provides a much better light. There's no super bright or dead spots (like an incandescent), and it's not blinding if you have to have your face against the wall, ceiling, or floor (like an LED). If you have a good one (not the crappy ones our outing club had), 6 hours from one filling of carbide and water ain't bad. Bring plastic bags into the cave with you, why would you dump it out?

    missed... 5-7-6
  6. I dunno, I still kinda like: scroll button, scroll button, 1 2, 1 2, and if you swing by my crib, then I can *scroll* with you!

  8. I use a gemini and an aurora for caving. They've both worked well with no problems yet.
  9. I watched it at home Monday evening. and I just watched it now (the link on the homepage says: "It works now!")
  10. "MSG'd!" "ow, my stomach lining!"

  12. and in an anarchy symbol!
  13. School teacher should be the highest payed and most sought after profession. They have huge impacts on kids lives (I blame my climbing *and* my profession on my HS physics teacher), yet they get paid shit. WTF is a billion-dollar CEO doing to shape individual kids lives like that?
  14. Count me in on this too. I've only done the trail once, but that was more than enough for me.
  15. for the record, I liked the site... quite a bit of useful info
  16. if you're looking to reduce resolution (thus reducing file size), check out http://www.irfanview.com/ batch resizing means you can resize all the images in a particular directory.
  17. I picked up a RioRiot (20 GB mp3 player) for $135 a few months ago. It's USB 1.0 (so in other words, slow to transfer music), but once you get your mp3's on, it doesn't matter. The place I got mine from (http://www.compgeeks.com) doesn't have them anymore, but you might be able to find one elsewhere. It's no iPod though... Now that iTunes is available for windows, the iPod is the coolest thing EVER.
  18. I have not developed a bolted route, so pardon me if this is a dumb suggestion. With regards to mattp's comments on tinkering, could you just place some non-permanent hangers (with some removeable glue or tape), then clip into them (with a trailing rope while still climbing on toprope) to see where the rope will go? This way there are no extra holes drilled into the rock if a bolt isn't in a good place.
  19. oh yeah, ponderosa forest!
  20. Matt definately does have a point here. It seems there are people here who will pounce on a TR, regardless of whether it's humble or a chestbeater, just for the sake of spraying on it.
  21. I second sage
  22. Orbital also Underworld Same but different (ambient and relaxing, but certainly not techno): Michael Jones, David Lanz, Calvin Jones
  23. I was in the Presidentials one winter and it was -30 F out. Then we climbed up to 50-60 mph winds in a whiteout (Mt. Madison), and I find it hard to believe it would have gotten much warmer up there. Good stuff.
  24. j_b, I'm certainly not condoning any of Trask's remarks, but she chimed in before that. I was nominated for Cabin Boy, but you don't see me complaining. She came in as a downer before it turned sour.
  25. marylou = strong sad
