family season pass included we have computer equipment all over the mountain, you get paid to ski 1st chairs there is a freee bus to and from bend, but we have a pimp ass astro van AT setup? If ya don't got one yet, then your priorities just ain't str8 agreed, the salary is pretty minimal but not too bad for bend. another benefit is a month off from work, on top of paid vacation. A month off. first 2 weeks piad, 2nd 2 weeks unpaid. But hoenstly, if you are looking to get rich, the ski industry isn't the path... this is a job for someone who feels that working in the mountains, and having a morning commute through the wilderness is $bling$ in and of itself. spray? oh you know it! Now all I have to do is figure out how to turn on a computer and convince the family to suck up the pay cut. Did I mention I don't know anything about computers? the emphasis was on NEW AT gear

If you can tell me how much snow we'll have in November I'll tell you the likelihood of avy conditions on the south spur. But unless we have a huge dump, you'll have a higher likelihood of a slide in Byrd Stadium. Go Terps

I doubt you'd have to actually measure metabolic rate of climbers. They have enough empirical data on rates of exertion that that there is bound to be a formula. Just plug in the hours of exercise and out comes an estimate of calories burned. On energy demand, a memorable quote from biochem in grad school was "the energy needed for a full day of intense studying can be supplied by one half of a salted peanut". Just imagine what you can do with a fist full of peanuts and a couple of beers.

You guys don't understand how the Federal gubment's budget and appropriations processes work. They get money for specific activities such as roadbuilding, timber management, recreation, etc. Each of these activities is a seperate line item in the budget. The Timber beasts get their own budget as do the recreation guys or other staff. The decision to buy vehicles usually rests with at a level like program manager or district ranger. They buy whatever fits the need of the staff from that program. The reason they buy white is they are cheapest, a white Ford is the same color as a white Chevy or Dodge. That saves them from having to paint them all that ugly mint green that we are all used to seeing. You know they all have to have the same appearance. You couldn't have them all driving around in non-matching vehicles.

Did the traverse two weekends ago. I didn't do it this way but next time I would start at Pole Creek, carry up the hayden, bivy on the saddle. Do South Ridge of North, then north ridge of Middle. Descended the southeast ridge of Middle, bivyed in the Chambers lake area. Then ascended the Carver and Prouty Glacier. Descended the south side to Devil's Lake TH. Its a blast and exhausting. (edit-I never said I did this as a Marathon attempt).

After spending the last two hours in a Ketchum bar, should it be a "Lust of Climbers". Damn it was hot there to night...........

Like cj said you can get backpacking rods for flyfishing and spinning. Spinning is usually easier for lake fishing especially if the shores are forested and the lakes are deep. If you are above treeline or the lakes are shallow enough to wade for casting then flyfishing can be a blast. Only other hint is think about how you are going to cook you catch if you plan to eat it .

I have notice that my best employees and co-workers are the ones who played organized TEAM sports in school. They know what teamwork is all about, they play fair, and they know their role versus the coach's and referee's roles. That and its always good to have a big bad football player backing you up when it comes to bar fights .

Man hospitalized after outhouse explosion Tuesday The Dominion Post A man was hospitalized for burns after he lit a cigarette in a portable outhouse and the outhouse exploded. MECCA said that at about 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, Monongalia Emergency Medical Services responded to a burn call at the Clay-Battelle Community Health Center on the Mason-Dixon Highway in Blacksville. The spokesperson said a man, whose identity is not being released, was inside a portable outhouse when the explosion occurred. The methane gases inside the outhouse didn't "take too kindly" to the lit cigarette, the spokesperson said. A Clay-Battelle Health Center spokeswoman said the man drove himself to the clinic. Mon EMS workers said the man was not severely hurt but they could not comment specifically on his injuries or release his name due to privacy policies. Mon EMS transported the man from the health center to Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Gotter I think you have been over there so long that you have forgotten what you are fighting for and what our country stands for. Granted the accused might not believe in our concept of liberty for all, nevertheless we are a country of laws to protect that concept. The accused US citizens should be tried under those laws.
