  1. I'm gonna have to agree with this one too. From what i saw before this last storm, there were some pretty nice running surfaces down here. A fair ammount of rain fell on the 3 sisters area before this last blast of 5-6" has been dropping. Furthermore, substantial winds have been cranking throughout the past 24 hours during the snowfall at 7000' avg 20mph gusts to 40 mph W-NW at 9000' avg 40-50mph gusts to *70+* W-NW There hasn't been a good freeze-thaw cycle in quite sometime 'round here, so indeed play it safe.
  2. yes.
  3. discuss....
  4. here's a list of the fine movies that some h4xx0rz uploaded to one of my webservers yesterday: 'Ass Driven' 'Anal Addiction' 'Ass Angels' hmmmm do we see a trend here? 'Barely 18, Number 9!' 'I'm Into Lesbians' 'Sinful Asians' and lets not forget: 'Young Asian Cookies Dripping... ' well dripping love sauce. gotta love the internet, and of course sploited windows servers providing bandwidth and storage for the fine folks at irc evilpanties.net!
  5. Right now it is a toss up forecast. The wx in bend/redmond is looking solid, but the snow level is dropping in the mountains (wet snow is falling right now at 6k)... and the mountains may recieve some showers. slushiez!
  6. yeah jlag, yer back on! what he said, but you really should get some skis mang!
  7. well, i did see some boot pack in the canyon headed up to moraine lk, not too much postholing there. if you got going early enough, and if it freezes up you shouldn't need snowshoes. the ridge above the lewis to the top was starting to melt out, and i'd imagine with today's rain it will be melted out, all depends on the weather though.
  8. i can lead 5.7 too, but only on a good day. i'm staying as far away from smith and all you wankers as possible this weekend.
  9. Climb: South Sister-South Side Plab VOL2004 Part 1 Date of Climb: 5/25/2004 Trip Report: You know i'z gotz to break off some for my grlll south sister too. I can't be givin all my love to middle... Today the plan was simple, go up to brokentop with 7 japanese tele guys with schralper. ?! Unfortunatley en route to meet my friends from the land o the rising sun, senor schralper informed me the international outreach mission had been canceled. no big deal me thinks, rumor had it that the cascade lks hwy was opening, i drove up the road. bastards. the plowed road still sealed tightly behind the fahkin gate. I decided to go work instead . Fortunatley, schralper came by to get my arse away from the computer, and, well, the rest of the day just got better and better. The gate was opened at 8:30ish, the official cascade lakes summer of plab 2004 had begun.... i knew it was time to go check out that SICK line down the south side of south sister, south side of south sister, south side of south sister, say it 10 times in a row. Well it was hot, damn hot, and i got a late start (THANKS ODOT ), but it was still very dope to be a lone gaper on such a popular mountain.... not a single person in sight for miles, all this corn, all mine!!!!!! Suprisingly, there was a nice little icy layer on top of the snow that made skinning up quite enjoyable. Soon I was chillin up on top (well not that soon, its a freaking death slog, but sooooo worth it), enjoying the solitude, and takin in the wonder of what is called the 3 sisters wilderness Middle and North Sisters from South The aforementioned icy layer had softened up just so, revealing a tasty ass little stash of corn... mmmmm. Corn kicked up from turns slid down the firm surface making a neat little whissssssssssssssssssssssssh sound as i skied down. Life is good. HOLLA ATCHA BOYZ GET SUM (quick, its going to melt fast) Gear Notes: saucer boy Approach Notes: snow all the way to the road, luge run down to devils lake is IN. not a whole lot of parking at all along the highway, all trailheads still snowed in.
  10. 2 words: Three Sisters timmy just rode 5000' of corn
  11. bad weather? whats that?
  12. Climb: Middle Sister-Hayden Glacier Date of Climb: 5/23/2004 Trip Report: Shitty. That one word summed up how I felt Sunday morning when I woke up and saw blue skies outside the bedroom window. The previous night, errr early morning festivities (here) left me in a world of hurt. After a quick call to secret agent .jlag. i was stumbling around my house gathering gear. Drunk. On the drive to sisters, I realized that i was really happy josh was driving, cuz i was still feeling the love from 2am. Shitting. At the trailhead, final bits of buzz wearing off, full hangover setting in, complete with post drunken sheaats. My pussy began to hurt. AND, the blue bird day skies were being covered with thunderclappin clouds. Slogging. The next 2 hours are a blur, and we finnally get above treeline, light mist quasi snowishrain, and we are greeted with this: My old friend middle sister, that naughty little las she is, lifting up her skirt of storm clouds just a bit, charming this gaper with her bounty of freshiez, taking advantage of my hungover mind.... we took the bait, and skinned on. Bliss. The remainder of the trip represents why I go into the mountains. The sheer beauty and awe of a storm slowly breaking up over the mountains is magical. The snow slowly stopped, the sucker hole we had been watching just kept getting bigger, and the tingling feeling started at the top of my head, down the spine and went all the way down to the baby blue denali's and the STOKE took over. mountainous ski pr0n clouds breaking jlag skinnin, north sister in background east side of middle awe inspiring shadows, clouds, ice, snow jlag skinning final stretch to prouty point jlag arching huge turns down the hayden gapert doin his thang i'm still a bit in shock from yesterdays trip. the booze haze, the mountains luring us further up, and the resulting magical ski. just so stoked, so blessed to be able to wake up drunk, call up a good friend, and get -P L A B- up in the mountains. get out there and get sum! Gear Notes: 20" brown, bendistillery hazlenut vodka, nasty ass jager shots, mirror pond Approach Notes: patchy snow after soap creek crossing on chambers lakes trail

  19. as jon said, we put a file inside particular directories that makes it so folks can't 'hotlink' images. that is when you take an image hosted on another server and use it on a different webpage hosted on a different server. this practice is heavily used here at cc.com, but it actually steals bandwidth, which costs $ from our server. the fact that it is affecting only a few folks here on the site leads me to believe that your upstream provider or place of employement might be caching content on a server to speed things up, which in turn creates the problem. but then again i don't know jackshnizzle!
  20. it might be a firewall issue, it is how the image is referrenced from the web server. as long as the originating request is from *.cascadeclimbers.com it will work fine. i think it might be more of a problem if your company or ISP has a caching system like microsoft's fantastic Proxy Server!
  21. homeboy was haulin arse down the hill, he drove down once he got out of the pipe, it was pretty funny to watch.
  22. so i could give dem titties 4 thumbs down! http://www.collegeslackers.com/soundboards/rick_james_soundboard.html
