its about a 4.5->5 mile skin into the basin. not a ton of elevation gain from the green lakes trailhead so it should be pretty easy for snow travelers of all skill levels. i'd be willing to porter in some party favors if we get a good crew going... also, we can have an apres bbq at casa de gaper on sunday evening.

Long shot, but has anybody been down there skiing this spring on Lassen yet?

no kidding, your cuticles are out of control. go to the thuper thalon today thilly!

Since the ski-in up north was unfortunately rained out, I've decided to schedule a pilgrimage to Green Lakes over the holiday weekend for some corn fed fun. This will obviously be quite different than the WA Ski-In, as it is a true ski-in, camp out in the Green Lakes Basin. Fantastic ski lines abound in the area on South Sister, Brokentop, and even the SE ridge of Middle could be schralped in longer day trip. If you are interested post to the thread or send me a PM. -Timmay

well if it doesn't snow, i'm going to stand on top of your routes and toss feshiez on you from great heights!

i'm personally sending all possible freshie snow vibes to yosemite for RuMR's visit.

I was going to possibly try to re-hash the ski-in for either Green Lakes or Hayden Glacier Area for that weekend. Green Lakes has a few more options, but they hayden has great mellow turns and tours of Middle as well.

there's bare spots just off the road by devils lake th, in the trees. the stuff on the side of the road is from the plows piling it up. Green Lakes TH should be a good place to crash out as well, or down at one of the snowparks en route.

The first time i posted this, it ended up in the cyber abyss... but ironically enough, the road did not open up until today! Thats right folks, its time to get some on the cascade lakes highway. Snow is almost completely clear of the Green Lakes TH parking area, but about 1-2' of snow still exists around the Devils Lake TH area. Snow was falling when i drove down the road this afternoon, so the smaller snow pack will be staying around a bit longer. Go get sume

i personally envision that all 'females' on cc.com (unless i meet said female avatars in person) are actually drul posing as a chick. i think its pretty hot.

when sparyers cry tender tears cuz they think they got moderatorizated its kind of like sending a PM to some hot cyber betty thinking your going to score apres crag session, only to find out the chick is actually dru. discuss.

fan-tastic idea. perhaps he can just be the wordsmith on the angry email to the provider. or better yet, we should write a glassgowkisspolishbob-izilator, much like the snoop dogg shizilator that will translate any plain text communication into glassgowkiss-speak.

yeah it is pretty fucked up imho. they could at least throw down some $ for the data loss. i imagine after a bit of bellyaching they might toss in a month of hosting fees. the empty gut feeling that comes with losing others data is the worst possible feeeling a computer d00d can ever get.

Greetings All- Our webhosting provider, and more specifically the MySql database that houses all the spray took a dive yesterday evening (5-9-05). Due to the outage, our provider used a backup tape to restore data, albeit old data. Because of this, many posts, pm's, and threads from yesterday have been sucked into the great oblivion of the internet abyss. I apologize for this, but the situation was pretty much out of the control of the admins/mods of this board. We will likely be questioning our host as to why they only take 1 backup every 24 hours, and hopefully this will never happen again (in the 4+ years of cc.com it hasn't happend before). -timmy note from our hosting provider:

FKNA annabelle is *the* original alpine betty.

This forum is moderated because the content shows up on our homepage for all to see. Thanks for your patience and contributions to the events forum.n

While wandering around the U District, blowing chips on the campus, and generally sucking, I recieved an sign from above. At the time I was passed out in a metro bus stop, I awoke, and right in front of my face was this: the number '7' in sign langauge, yet another messenger from above had scrawled 'shocker' across the palm of the painting. i was so moved by this that i continued to wander the streets, hands raised high in shocker formation, exclaiming "SHOCKER SHOCKER SHOCKER" to all that passed by. it was magical. like finding extra tots in your pocket. discuss
