  1. yeah rbw!!! way to get it. got any picts?
  2. we'll be down on march 22-26. got some ticks for lift served runs (squaw/heavenly), but would like to get out in the BC for a day... either jakes or maybe tallac, whatever is good, or might burn the extra time at meadows since we ski free there. would love to link up with some cc.com fooz while i'm down there.
  3. the elevation and southern/eastern location from the crest is bachelors saving grace in years like this. snow is still fun right now... very spring like, get it while its still here fellas!
  4. i seriously doubt it. unless we start to get snow really soon, which doesn't look too promising right now. wouldn't it be funny if PPP got canceled due to lack of snow
  5. speaking of skiing on helens... wasn't the powder article with shots of bra's shralpin the crater interesting?
  6. hey man, don't knock the magical 60". the snow stake does read 60" (as it is in a sheltered spot). there are bare spots all over the place around dutchman, and up towards moon mtn/ball butte area. its amazing how much snow has melted in the past 2 weeks above tree line on all aspects. if anyone is interested in getting anything in the sisters, they should be making plans right about..... now.
  7. fkn slednekkers i'm pretty certain it is the elk lake lodge that keeps the road snow filled till after spring break. i personally think it is better for the road to stay closed a bit longer. parking is always an issue, and it keeps the corn more pristine.
  8. larry, me and becky are coming down at the end of the month, i'll swing in... any chance you can get out for some siiickyness?
  9. although ODOT could probably plow out the hwy (there ain't much snow on it) my guess is that they won't touch it till after Oregon Spring Break (March 21st) as some businesses like Elk Lake Lodge depend on the snow access. fwiw, there is still about 2 feet of snow on the road at dutchman flat.
  10. no shiz, that story gave me some bad dreams, read that last night and my big ass dog came into the room right at the end freaked the shite out of me
  11. sobo's pic ain't skeleton cave... skeleton has a much bigger collapse opening with now boulders littering the enterance (there is only PBR cans and tires littering it) i think the pict is of wind cave that has the neato skylight enterance.
  12. very nice camilo. definately a worthy TR. Tallac looked super sicky from the top of jakes peak when i was last down there, i gotta go check it out
  13. snowing at bachelor right now
  14. i personally use a variety of browsers from a plethora of different computers on a daily basis. i have experienced some 'user state' issues with the site, but all can be easily fixed by first pulling up this page: http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/threadz/logout.php simply login, and all is set. if you are super lazy, you can set your browser to save your user/pass for that page so you just have to hit enter. since i'm not paid to troubleshoot your computer issues marylou, thats the best i nfo i can give you. the problem itself could be caused by any number of things: ISP caching, personal firewalls, browser settings, but nine times out of ten the problem lies between the keyboard and the chair. happy surfing!
  15. Climb: Brokentop-Gaper's Delight Date of Climb: 2/23/2005 Trip Report: Cruel Summer; The 80's classic from bannanarama should perhaps be remade this year with the title cruel winter. Indeed, us freshie minded fiends here in the pacnw have had a cruel winter.... sitting back, watching the fellas down south constantly getting sum, while nothing but high pressure and pineapple expresses continue to give it to the cascades up the... But somehow in the midst of the nino, some has been gotten. Here is a tale of two freshie starved peeps, and a magical place called Gaper's Delight. ......... sleep did not come easy that night. the pre-game anticipation hit hard at 2am. my inner stoke clock woke me up, and the hop-head induced headache answered back. some vitamin-i put me back to sleep, and for 3 more hours i dreamed of that special place... the magical place that always has some freshies... yet the sun shines warm on the face... that magical place called 'gapers delight'. pulling into the parking lot at dutchman flat, jlag and i were greeted with an empty lot. plabness. the sled was loaded up, and we were on our way to brokentop's east side. stepping off the sled at the wilderness boundry, the plabness came to a screeching halt.... a phatty 3" layer of sun crust covered the bounty of freshies. but the magic of gapers delight still beckoned, and we began to wander into the wilderness. after a short half hour skin, we stood below the beautiful gapers delight. immediately, massive gapage set in. jlag and i could not keep the jaws from dropping while skinning higher. skinning below schralper's ramp the views from the ridge were fantastic, but they were soon to be outshined by the blissfull fluff that the face had cached for us. with the first turn off the ride, we fully realized how magical this day would be. jlag gettin it on the first lap each lap down the delight ended with basking in the warm central oregon sun. and so the day wound away, up, and down, in the bliss of this alpine playground. earning some more the turns were just so blissfully powdery, we couldn't help but go back for third's and fourth's. jlag dropping in climbing for some more, jefferson in back mmmm, freshies last few turns and a good time was had by all. headin home thanks jlag for the good times. thanks gaper's delight for the tight terrain and freshie shots.

  19. pictures are slowly coming back to life, check some old tr's. also, have you tried the active topics link?
  20. agreed on both. i put a lot of time into TR's with pictures as well. Fortunately, that should be a fairly simple fix.
  21. PM jlag, I think he was up there a few weeks ago. We did get some new snow this weekend, but not enough to really change road conditions.
  22. althought the base ain't huge, the sisters wilderness is still providing the love this winter. here is some stoke stroke, get some!! RIPIN IT UP LOL, brokentop a la mode late afternoon in brokentop, schralper.com ball butte freshies pwn! tahoe here i come
  23. in your ideal world of spray, what would you like to see? Our current bbs software vendor/package is getting a bit stale, and support/product updates are sparse so I'm looking around a bit. I'm sure many of you out there frequent numerous other message boards, and i'm curious what you like, and what features you think we could really use here on cc.com. I realize there are a few things that have already been pointed out: -Better Search Facility -Chat -Faster -Perhaps a better picture gallery solution A few things I have been toying with are: -RSS feeds -Donation Integration Anyhow, y'all being the users of this site, I want to hear what you would like. It still blows my mind that this place has grown so much in the past (is it 4 years now?) few years, and I want to make sure you sprayers are happy. Thanks timmy
