I think what fell last year was the huge chunk of ice/snow that filled the gully approaching the notch. Erik is right about the basin being a good place to camp, but I'll bet it's one helluva hump to get up there with full packs. I did EWS last year as a very reasonable day trip using bikes for the 4 mile road to Monte Cristo. The gully to the notch will be interesting for a newbie. Oh, yeah - I think it's Wilmon's Spire not Williams. [ 05-20-2002, 10:09 AM: Message edited by: vegetablebelay ]

  6. quote: Originally posted by trask: Seems to me that when this was posted before, Caveman and someone else had figured out a way to cheat the system, and had it down to .11 seconds. I forget how they did it. Click and release the START button and then click (but don't release) the STOP button. When the background changes release the STOP and you get a lot faster times. There, I ruined it for everyone.

None of us really see it, but running this site carries a cost of time and money for Jon and Tim. Who would put up some of one or both to keep what happened to Crag.com from happening here? 8. I think Mike is just talking about getting the road open 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week. I would think the worst case would be that you'd have to wait until they open up the gate.

  15. Columbia Peak in the Monte Cristo area is a great one. I've heard Cadet is good too but never been on it.

  18. It's true - there was a Federov sighting on top of Wedge. He was pissing down on all of B.C. Sunday morning.
