    THE SEX THREAD!

what sex life you talkin bout, Ms IceQueen? mine...you know, one in which you are not included. what happened to yesterday's avatar??
  7. i quit for a very long time due mainly to the arrival of my son in this world. it initially started b/c climbing when you're 7 mos preggers is just awkward, then having a newborn is just too tiring, then a divorce meant i was a single parent. as a single parent, i became overly aware that i could orphan my child and i wasn't OK with that. it's more that it affected my climbing than anything else. the thought kept creeping in my head anytime i got the least bit sketched and made the situation worse so i quit altogether. things in my life have changed since then so i'm more comfortable with it now but it was about 6-7 years of nothing harder than a class 3 scramble. i will say that i'm a fair bit more cautious than i used to be and it has hindered my return to climbing some. h/e, i have more fun than ever even if i'm not climbing at the same level i used to.

  19. watched soccer on saturday morning, cragged in the lovely sun on saturday went for a walk and admired the lovely crisp fall weather and cleaned house on sunday unexciting, uneventful, uninteresting and a perfectly wonderful w/e.
  20. from a couple of climbs earlier in the year i've become a big fan of the wild country curved hexes for alpine routes. mix those w/nuts and 4-6 cams and couple small try cams and i'm pretty happy these days.

  23. scrambler, quit sucking the light hearted nature out of my posts. these are interesting accomplishments but way too damn serious for a rock paper scissors discussion
  24. rock, paper, scissors World - Canada Canadian Beats World at Rock, Paper, Scissors Sun Oct 26, 6:45 PM ET TORONTO (Reuters) - The competitors, in glitzy, off-the-wall costumes, call themselves professional athletes. Some even bring along team doctors to supervise their nutrition and take them through intense warmups. This, it seems, is serious stuff to the 320 competitors who shook their fists early into Sunday morning at the World Rock, Paper, Scissors Championships at a nightclub in downtown Toronto. The man who did win -- and netted himself a purse of C$5,000 ($3,825) -- was Toronto's Rob Krueger, a member of the team "Legion of the Red Fist." To achieve the lofty title of World RPS Champion, he threw a combination of rock-paper-paper, defeating his opponent's offering of three rocks. Treading a thin line between silly spectacle and serious sport, the event drew a crowd of about 900, including many bemused spectators who wandered, with drinks in hand, among a slew of local and international media. Andy Cumming, 28, flew to Canada from London with five other members of the United Kingdom team, as well as their team doctor who counsels them on warmups, diet and practice. "It's an internationally played game, you know," he said, wearing a pair of worker's coveralls with the red, white and blue of the Union Jack patterned on it. "It's a complete travesty that not many people take it seriously." To the uninitiated, taking the playground game seriously is something of a tall order. Many competitors wore crude, homemade costumes, and played with a can of beer in their non-throwing hand. Douglas Walker, managing director of the Toronto-based, 700-member World RPS Society, is a little more realistic about the so-called sport he promotes. "We take rock, paper, scissors about as seriously as you take something like rock, paper, scissors. We have a lot of fun with the concept."
  25. believe me, i was troubled at the time. however, i will say this. at no point was it anywhere close to a rescue situation. in this case it was a partner who was able to help me keep my head about me and safely backtrack myself to more secure ground. and this was quite a long time ago. what i realized this weekend is how much confidence having a partner who could've climbed the sketchy section had i had to bail on the pitch gives me.
