you'll have no shortage of great climbing in the area. go pick up some books and go for it. elephants perch was my first multipitch climb. it's still a favorite. in fact i was recently talking to someone about going over and climbing it again sometime next year. have fun! you've probably found these by now but here's a few links climbing idaho a few links idaho forum shop

which cc.com avatar would you most like to see in a kilt. if i can't get wirlwind into one soon, i'm going to have to consider other options maybe trask....i always enjoy pointing and laughing
-
muffy's too picky. i just want a picture of their rack and rope.
-
i'd forgotten about those! wirlwind you still haven't worn a kilt for me
-
i do practice at home myself but i do like to take a class once a week or so. helps keep the form up. tv and yoga don't go!
-

i think most people figured out that it was satire. the great thing about satire is that it can open up this kind of discussion. despite my lambasting erik for his tirade against the spelling police, i think he's right and this is a good topic.
-
I think this part is the best. We were once rebels, but seems we have forgotten our country's roots. And the reward of this occupation/war does not make any sense to me. i agree. i still question the need to tell these people how to govern themselves. should we not be taking more of a supportive role as they assume a post saddamn adminstration? we should be helping them rebuild their infrastructure not trying to govern them. maybe they'd be friendlier and more resptive to americans in that context. perhaps it could be a basis for change in attitude on both sides which might lead to a more stable long term diplomatic relationship?
-
wow erik! you're making a lot out of nothing. how often have i chosen to correct your misspellings or anyone else's? sorry i jumped in for a little fun. i figured necro was tough enough to take w/some humor. if he's got a problem w/it he can deal w/me directly. yep good threads get ruined all the time. i also see them get put back on track by an intelligent well thought out comment on the original topic. why don't you try that instead of chiding us for not behaving in the manner you wish? erik, perhaps it is you who should rethink the way you interact with others. instead of trying to parent us all and direct the flow of everything, relax and deal w/your own issues instead of trying to armchair shrink other peoples? hey and have a nice day
-
hey erik, sorry the thread didn't go the way you wanted it to! we certainly have had a shortage of discussion on the situation in iraq haven't we? and you sure the heck haven't started any threads on the topic have you? i personally will do my best to stay on task from now on
-
don't, if he can't figure it out be himself, then he doesn't deserve to know.
-
well that's good news. and it did look to be on it's way this w/e.
-
alright already! i was wrong. i should've looked at the forecast! i was just basing my opinion on what i saw this w/e. and the dictionary doesn't set forth specifics for "soon" for me soon means sometime before the first of the year. mainly b/c that's as SOON as i'd have time to climb it. i'm bloody sorry erik. i've said i was wrong like 3 times now. shoot boy what do you want? and scott, go yourself
-
yep...that may be the understatement of the year, even.
-
hey scott.. grow the fuck up a little. erik and i seem to have this discourse handled w/o your nonsense.
-
Now I'll never be able to eat Keebler cookies again! think about it this way...as a country we elected a keebler elf to govern us. there's a certain appropriate irony in that. trask having a driver's license puts me at risk for jury duty. i vote just so that i know your vote has been nullified by mine.
-
that's b/c you haven't been wearing your kilt Hypothetically speaking, if I were to wear a kilt climbing, where exactly would my harness go? 'spose I could put it under the whole thing. Though I think I'd laugh too hard putting it on, and if I whipped upside down my partner would probably be laughing too hard to catch me. So I guess a kilt is "way trad" 'cause you just gotta wear a swami belt with it. it's irrelevant. it only applies to wirlwind but nothing says studly like a man in a skirt...er..kilt
-
i still assert that Bush looks like a kiebler elf. i find it disconcerting to listen to him talk about foreign policy, the economy, the war on terror when i keep seeing him running around a tree selling cookies.

mmmm...........hypocrisy
