you don't get old, pale, and flabby until after the second kid relax...you'll figure it out. you won't really know how you're going to feel about parenting, climbing, your job, sleep etc until after the little one arrives. babies have a way of dictating that is really impressive for something that's a mere 8lbs and has a very limited vocabulary. i quit climbing for a few years but that was personal choice and not entirely related to being a parent. if you and your wife communicate there is no reason that you can't continue to climb regularly. perhaps you'll need to postpone certain goals for a few years but i don't see a reason to abandon them.

thanks for the comments. keep 'em coming. guess i should say it would be 2-3 year stint. i've never climbed or spent much time in/near laramie but i go to pinedale at least once a year and love it. mostly worried about the wind and winters.

if only i had the technique and strength to go w/the tiny hands but i gotta admit i love it when the guys whine about the tiny finger locks...they're usually nice fingers even hands

do you have tiny hands as in finger length or skinny hands/fingers? for some reason i have ridiculously skinny hands. cupped...maybe one or two and the then onto fists definitely. green camalot is perfect hands for me.

right on the money w/BOC...the start is strenuous for me but goes reasonably well. the upper portion is some horrid combination of fists and whatever else i can jam in there kicks my ass libra first couple moves always get me a little but pretty much that's perfect hands for me. love that crack! that chimney is just funky...i haven't climbed it the same way twice and i think it's hard to grade an OW anyway sometimes.

I thought the same thing while onsighting it. Linked it with the 2nd pitch of the route below it...climbed off the ledge, placed a piece, made a couple moves, downclimbed back to the ledge, climbed a little higher and placed another piece, went "damn, ain't gettin no easier, better punch it" and then two moves higher it's perfect hands...Ahhhhhh!. Second time I climbed it, knowing that fatty handjams are up there, and it's really a short pitch, it didn't seem like a sandbag at all. it is not perfect hands anywhere

leave the watch at home! great advice. i almost never run on pavement or through my neighborhood. always on trails or something close. i love to watch my the scenery change through the seasons on my regular routes. if i'm about to skip a run there's two things that i do. the first, put on my shoes, go out the door, start running. you can tell yourself that you'll only go for 10 minutes. usually i feel better after a few minutes and end up running much longer. if that doesn't do the trick, then i commit to doing some type of work out. even if you're not running you're maintaining the habit of working out daily.

I lived in Ft Collins, CO (pretty close to Laramie). I would probably not opt for that again, having lived here. But there are worse places to be. why not? i've been to FC and i agree that i wouldn't want to live there. i've enjoyed WY more on my visits than i did FC.

have any of you ever lived in WY? i've enjoyed several trips to there but i'm not sure if i'd want to go year round. i've an opportunity to relocate to laramie w/a significant amount of time spent near jackson.

by the time i'm done w/ that rope on that route, he won't want it!!! i just figured he wouldn't know what to do w/a rope. Oh c'mon now minxy!!!! I haven't been bouldering since september! only sportclimbing! I'm dying! thats why bishop is coming up i'd have to lash out at anyone else that called me minxY! go hug a pebble for me! looks like i'm going to be doing less climbing and more skiing next week
