  1. You can't top AlpineK's tree chipper.
  2. Confidence men are always the most likeable sort.
  3. What do you mean "except online"? GregW only exists online.
  4. It depends on whether you are hiking on trail or scrambling, doesn't it?
  5. I hear so many people mention how such and such a politician is "likeable". Why is that important? None of us have to work around the guy every day. It's not like you are interviewing him to be your coworker. Who gives a shit if he is likeable, if he can get the job done? I'll bet GregW gets the job done, even though he's as prickly as a porcupine, not that I'd necessarily vote for him.
  6. I was told is that the Intuition liners don't compress as quickly as the Alveolite liners. Is that true?
  7. Free solo everything. You don't need much money for that except perhaps air fare. Leave a will so the money goes to your favorite charities. Make sure you remember timmy and jon in your will. They got expenses you know. "Where there's a will, prosperity is just around the corner". --W.C. Fields.
  8. It must be karma. I seem to remember something about a lonesome shoe...
  9. I don't like to have my rack in the bottom of the pack because it messes up the weight distribution, although lower may be better if the approach is more technical as Dru suggests. Since it is the most dense piece of equipment in the pack, I try to locate it more towards the center by putting extra clothes and slings in first. I just put it in a stuff sack.
  10. That piece of advice is already dated. There are better liners and boots available now, like the Intuition liners and Scarpa Alphas. My understanding is that Twight used Invernos. You may or may not be able to size the shells smaller than you would with the standard liners. The Alphas are lighter, smaller and more flexible and with the thermo molded Intuition liners are just as warm. Furthermore they don't absorb moisture.
  11. I am just speculating, but it may be the water entrapment issue has less to do with corrosion and more to do with freeze/ thaw? Perhaps frozen water crystals are able to break the bond between epoxy and rock?
  12. I would be accurate to say that it starts 50 ft to the left of the Dark Rhythm anchors at Blueberry Terrace. The two diverge by hudreds of feet from there.
  13. Almost anything at Erie can be protected mostly with stoppers.
  14. I thought it was the Wahmbulance.
  15. Why are there biners clipped into biners? It's a strange setup.
  16. Do you mean this place?
  17. If Bush wins we all go out in a blaze of glory. Wonderful.
  18. I read in the newspaper today that the Army plans to punish those responsible by issuing letters of "severe reprimand". No time in the brig.
  19. What makes you think that he intends to pull the troops out? I don't think it is clear exactly what he would do.
  20. It highly doubtful McCain, a Republican, would agree to run on a Democrat ticket, but what if he did?
  21. That Amanda sounds like a horny one.
  22. It doesn't matter which you do first, as long as you do both. One's breath will smell much better with flossing. If you need a reason to floss, what better reason than getting more .

    poison oak

My dad once helped my grandfather clear some brush so they could build a chicken coop on Long Island, New York. They made a pile and burnt it. There was poison ivy in the brush and he got the rash all over his entire body. He said it was horrible.
  24. I think more of them should anchor where opportunities exist. You can anchor and still give a dynamic belay if you want. You don't have to stand tight against the anchor. You could have some slack with the anchor as a backup to prevent you from launching or crashing into the rock. It all depends on the circumstances.
  25. Yes, it has been posted on cc.com before.
