I don't know the answer. Intuitively, it would seem there would be a limit on dissimilar sizes, but don't know what that would be. I probably wouldn't use it to join 6 mm cord to 10 mm rope, for example. I know for a fact that the double fisherman works no matter what the size differential.
Story
This reminds me of a story in a book on brain disorders*. A young fellow left home to be with the Hare Krishnas, without telling his parents where he was going. They finally tracked him down and found him "meditating". He had this beatific smile on his face.
Somehow they dragged him out of there and got him to a doctor. Turns out his ability to meditate was actually due to a large tumor that was rapidly displacing the frontal lobes of his brain. The tumor was successfully removed, but the man lost all ability to form new memories.

I think the reason people are seeking out alternative treatments is because the mental or if you will spiritual aspects of healing are not being adequately addressed by modern medicine. I suppose that is a result of the compartmentalization of internal medicine and psychiatry. Whatever the cause. Many people feel dissatisfied with the Western scientific approach to medicine. When new drugs are approved, witness the fact that the placebo effect in clinical trials is often equal to or larger than the effect of the drug being tested.
Ask Schwab if they can "re-sipe" a tire. I think they have some tread depth standard they apply. I am almost certain that they cannot deepen existing cuts, because their machine is automated. It would make new cuts. Unless the old cuts are mostly gone, it wouldn't make sense to resipe.
I wish I could develop an immunity, but it seems I become more sensitized with each exposure.
My understanding of the toxin is that it is an oil. Your skin has a thin layer of keratin rich dead cells, underwhich is a fatty layer. The oils are only stopped by the top level of the epidermis. Once they reach the stratum corneum they are easily able to diffuse through. Any sort of scratching or abrasion speeds delivery of the oils. It is important to use soap and water to emulsify these oils. Water alone will not remove them easily.
Accidents and homicide have the greatest effect on reprodution, not disease. But death before reproductive age has a small effect compare to differences in fecundity.
Before such a graemlin is accepted you must first explain exactly what it's meaning is, how it will be used with all its nuances. You must also include a cost benefit analysis. Also explain how it will get along with the other graemlins. Will it wrap it's tentacles around, Yoda for example.
In fact, many chiropractors ARE doctors. "Doctors of Chiropractic". I also disagree with the statement that MD/NDs and DCs "hate and disparage" each other.
My brother is an M.D. You don't want to get him started on Chiropractors.
One way to regard a severe poison ivy reaction is to view it like a second degree burn. It basically disrupts the protective integrity of the skin.
When it get's that bad, it should be treated with steroid injections and antibiotics. If infection sets in you can die. If this even happens again, make her go to the doctor. Chiropractors are not doctors. They hate each other and disparage each other.
It can be really bad. It helps to stay covered with clothes when you are around the stuff. You need to be careful just washing the clothing. Treat it like it has radioactivity on it or something.
