  2. some people have waaaaay to much time, oh wait I've been online all day. I wish I had a pumpkin cannon ropegun.
  3. If you watch the beginning of the movie K2 and Vertical Limit you should get a pretty good idea of how to trad climb.

  5. Thems some bitch'en conditions.
  6. Yeah, it's called European soccer fans.
  7. And if shultzys fill up we can fill our nalgenes for $3 across the street at big time and take it to go (buildering at UW?), or you can stay if like string cheese incident as tuesdays is string cheese incident night(all the more reason to get to go beer and get the fuck out).
  8. I talked to caveman about that climb and was planning on doing that next weekend. He made it sound like a pretty fun trip. What day are you going?
  9. Ballroom=Meatmarket Meatmarket=Not such a bad thing for a bunch of guys
  10. Great times for sure. Pearly gates=Hamburger hands Castle Rock=Stiff Ratings Rope up=Should happen every weekend Chuck and Cavey, did you find yer rope?
  11. Yeah, it sucked. Don't bother going to pearly gates either, the climbing there is awful, its all this granite with vertical hand sized cracks all over the place. I'm still nursing the wounds of mattp's fit of rage.
  12. Here a good one... President's bullet-ridden body in the street Ride, Johnny ride Kennedy's shattered head hits concrete Ride, Johnny ride Johnny's wife is floundering Johnny's wife is scared Run, Jackie run Texas is an outrage when your husband is dead Texas is an outrage when they pick up his head Texas is the reason that the president's dead You gotta suck, suck, Jackie suck
  13. who doesn't tap the keg tonight. So will the keg be in action tonight or tomorrow? I need to know if I should get beers for this evening to go with my scotch.
  14. I use the prussik deal sometimes, it can be reather handy, just cause you can take both hands off. This is a hard one cause you can put the person on rappel and have them wait while you rappel, to alleviate the force on them you could add an extra locker and clove into it, and when yer down have the next person undo the clove and take the locker and then you can "yard on the rope" as was mentioned earlier. I'm not sure this is the best way but it seems like it would work. The other option is to simply lower the learner from the rap station and then rap second. Then take the time to teach before the situation arises. It's alway unnerving to be below someone who is inexperienced at rappin'.
  15. I used to think the same as twight, but I caved in and bought a down jacket and let me tell you 'senior puffy' is da bomb. My plan is now to combine it with a lighter weigh down bag and I got the ultimate all weather set-up (as long as I don't sleep in a creek).
  16. Think about it this way, If it's raining why would you have a down jacket one? Rain=Temperatures above 32. Ok so I'm guilty of wearing my puffy coat (senior puffy) when it's not super cold but it's so comfortable. My rational was I would rather have a little bit of "breathability" for when it is really cold and you have to wear it while doing physical activity, as it can help reduce the amount of vapor build up that subsequently makes yer base layer wet. As for sleeping bags, tent/bivy sack condensation may necessitate the more advanced fiber. That's my amatuer opinion, which may be wrong but hey who cares . Crackbolter, what do you think?
  17. Leaving Woodinville friday after work, retunrning sunday afternoon as I have to be in seattle at 5:00. PM me if you need a lift.
  18. I figure there will be lots of people that will need partners since is gonna be a big climbing clusterfuck. I need one too, but I figure I'll just work something out when I get there. Though I would like to get on Givlers crack if anyones up for it.
  19. I'll be leaving tonight as well, from woodinville (where I work). Would anyone like a lift? Ya just have to meet me in woodinville, which if you don't know, is just off the highway en'route to the Big L.
  20. quote: Originally posted by carolyn: while we are somewhat on the subject of melting snow...I was told when melting snow for drinking water, you need to add something else to it (tea, lemonade, whisky;), etc) or it doesnt do you any good. True?! That's if you melt it in yer mouth, which means yer makin' a sno cone and we all know what a sno-cone with nothing on it will do...
  21. I had a dream about doing it, does that count?
  22. Yeah, I specifically said BUDWISER. She said thirteen bucks. So i paid since I didn't want to get stabbed. The beer was good though. I'm bringing my camo, buck knife, and gun next time, maybe I'll fit in.

  24. Postoffice is cool though Mike and I got some looks from a bunch of hunters in fatigues with bullets and big knives on their belts. I think it was due to the large amount of octoberfest tourists, which seems to be going on perpetually.
  25. Y'all don't know shit...A sooner was a person or persons who, during the Oklahoma land rush, secretly departed and staked their claim before the designated time, hence the name sooners, they left sooner than everyone else. My drunk irish relatives were sooners.
