I think that's not a good thing as well. Giving a man part of the equation or part of the knowledge needed to be a climber could possibly be deadly to that person and that would be a horrible thing. The learning curve for learning to climb is long, which is why I rarely climb with any one who has not been doing it for at least 2 years. But that's for another thread. The Madrone clean up is a few days before the event, lets make sure that is covered too, maybe someone can take a poster out to that event as well.

Nice. I've got blown-up to 11 x 17 laminated posters on the Ozone (as of Wednesday night) and the populr Rocky Butte trail to Video Bluff (as of Thursday night -Ujahn and I bouldered last night up there). Getting one in the case a Beacon should be done as well if someone can get one there and ask the rangers to put one in there.

Like to see some of you post the "treasures" you find and buy there after you've drug them back to your lairs and nooks.

Nice cheap shot from another small-minded sport wanker. Pretty sure Mr. Cilley has climbed pitches you'll only dream about. I completely respect that he chooses to toprope where pricks like you would pound a line of bolts. Maybe it'S just me, but you come off sounding like a bit of a prick there.

Been there done that and read all his positions on his web site as well, and its easy to not be convinced of the guys skills in organization for obvious reasons. His web site makes it pretty clear that he is offering a lot of "something for nothing", and in the real world one never gets that I assure you. You may hope and belive that we will all get a chicken in every pot, yet the reality is that someone will still have to pay for the Chickens. BTW Prole, Bushs record was significantly better than Obamas before the election, and see where that got you don't you?

What works for me is Zanfel. It really WORKS. It also costs $32 for an Ounce. Thats 1 Oz. Walgreens makes and equivalent they call Poison Ivy Wash. It is the equal to Zanfel. It's costs $20 something for an ounce. One ounce. I gladly pay it when I consider the alternative. I've bought over 6 of these tubes so far this year, the last one a few months ago fortunatly. They say each tube should treat 15 ivy spots. My mileage is less. This Sh*t works. I'd like to grow my own though and save the scratch. now here's Rob pissing on my parade. BTW Rob, that's a Wikipedia article. It's strange that there are so many who say it works. link link The medical studies there don't mention the itching going away. I don't think that's conclusive. Yet I still haven't tried it yet. When the oak was strong in the spring, my plants were babies, now they're huge and I wouldn't feel bad tearing them up, but the leaves have fallen off the poison oak plants and I haven't gotten it recently.

Maybe there's a parallel world out there. Re... RE: small-town mayor is sort of like a "community organizer (McCain - Palin in 08!) Reply to: comm-826923112@craigslist.org [?] Date: 2008-09-04, 9:03AM PDT PALIN ROCKS! You moron, you completely missed the point most probably on purpose because you don't want to face the facts, Sarah Palin has more Executive experience than "I worked as a community organizer" Barack HUSSEIN Obama. He's an empty suit, he done nothing, accomplished nothing! LInk to Craigslist Sarah Palin is now the shining star in this race and your BOY is going down in flames! LOL!!! * Location: McCain - Palin in 08! * it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests PostingID: 826923112

I cringed during the DNC when Jimmy Carter, in that sweet southern drawl, after saying how excited he was that the country has come this far, said something like Obama was a real bright Boy. Called dude a boy. I cringed. BTW, having Republicans in will help balance the democratic controlled congress. McCain has spoken publicly that supreme court justices should be picked with NO litmus test on abortion, and that they must not be the type that legislates from the bench, but are judging from strictly constitutional principles. I'm leaning towards Obama, but I suspect he'll fuc*k the country up pretty bad. Palins comment rang true with me and cracked me up: "I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a 'community organizer,' except that you have actual responsibilities." What has Obama done? Seriously, hes never had to meet a payroll or create a single job. Ever. "Community organizer" sounds like a person who fills out government forms to try to get government grants for "The Community". Is that and being a lawyer now seriously now a qualification to be President? Those who don't think Obama will f*up this country real bad are running on wishful thinking. I wish I wish I wish all you want, he has NO track record. So you wish and hope he'll not F* us all in the ass with NO lubrication and that's all nice and dandy, but its a wish or belief you have, and there is no indication we won't jump out of the heat and into the fire. It's nice to have hope, and it's nice to have wishes and it's nice to have dreams....but good luck on actualizing them. Bot candidates have issues. BOTH. ".....a small-town mayor is sort of like a 'community organizer,' except that you have actual responsibilities." Think about that.

Public attaboy for Tim Olsen. Tim got the Boners call regarding the guidebook they were doing as a fundraiser for Kevin Rausch and within 2 hours of it took down the new info he was just starting to put up on his web site that would have diminished the new Ozone guidebooks value. Moreover, and more importantly, he got behind the project and did the Topo drawings for the book, making multiple trips to get it right. Jeff Thomas said you don't get rich doing guidebooks to start with, but Tim's doing this work for free. Big kudos to Tim. Thanks from us all! If anyone is new to the area and needs a guidebook to the Portland Area, Tim's is the book. His topo of Beacon is beyond informative and well into the realm of art, a must buy so if nothing else you can frame it and hang it. I think the French Clay only slightly works and anyway you have to leave that shit on you for 15 min and not make a mess: HELLO! It's not as good as baking soda which is still only temporary. Surprised you don't sign onto this project. Maybe you like the way it feels for 2 weeks after you do that Jensons Ridge topout and should have had a mask and snorkel cause you were doing the mandatory swimming through it..... I can't say. Surprising is all.

"If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation, they will be pursued," Biden said during a campaign event in Deerfield Beach, Florida, according to ABC. "[N]ot out of vengeance, not out of retribution," he added, "out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no attorney general, no president -- no one is above the law." About time congress grew a pair. They are suppose to be running the show, not walking away and letting the King do it all and tell them how to live.

Put the blown up 11 x 17" laminated poster on the big tree just before the trail starts heading down. I marked it on the bottom with a felt tip pen, "Please give to Jim Opdycke after event" or some thing to that effect. So its my intent that Jim gets it to brighten up his video store.

I thought the Palin speech was very good. She was losing me droning on about the family blah blah blah and I almost turned it off. Glad I didn't as it got good towards the end. She speaks well, not Obama good, but pretty good. Good lines: something like: "I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a 'community organizer,' except that you have actual responsibilities."

I use to work for a Russian and a German Jew. They hired any and all Holocaust survivor that wandered by and was looking for work. No females ever applied, but they routinely had dudes working with tattoos on their arms. So ....unspeakable and horrifying. It gives the incessant complaining and whining about our system of gov't that you see on this site 24/7 seems so inconsequential and pale by comparison. Perspective. Damn I love this country.

Jewelweed. Link "Jewelweed is best known for its skin healing properties. The leaves and the juice from the stem of Jewelweed are used by herbalists to cure poison ivy and other plant induced rashes, as well as many other types of dermatitis. Jewelweed works by counter-reacting with the chemicals in other plants that cause irritation. Poultices and salves from Jewelweed are a folk remedy for bruises, burns, cuts, eczema, insect bites, sores, sprains, warts, and ringworm." Anyway, I planted some this year in my backyard with the sole intent of doing a Johnny Jewelweed seed gig. The Hummingbirds love this stuff. I hope to harvest seeds in a week are 2. I will give anyone who wants some seeds until I run out. If you choose to plant in your back yard, they like it damp, so mulching is a great idea so you can do extended climbing trips in the heat and your plants survive it. It might not be a bad idea to put some in the areas you're planning on climbing if there is Poison Oak there so that you can just rip some of this off and rub before you even head home. Thinking like Ozone, put them in your favorite spot and tell folks of this. It likes damp soil. Let me know if you want some and I'll bring some seeds to the Ozone Kevin Rauch benefit for you if they are ready. More info: Link Link

Trying to keep it all in perspective on what is important to me and us as a country? What is #1 on all of our lists. Freedom. All else follow. Truth would be nice as well. I understand that sometimes you don't get it or it's not entirly correct, we have instances of it in the US for sure, ....but this seems so sad to me. link "Stalin's mass murders were 'entirely rational' says new Russian textbook praising tyrant By Will Stewart Last updated at 1:10 AM on 03rd September 2008 Stalin acted ‘entirely rationally’ in executing and imprisoning millions of people in the Gulags, a controversial new Russian teaching manual claims. Fifty-five years after the Soviet dictator died, the latest guide for teachers to promote patriotism among the Russian young said he did what he did to ensure the country’s modernisation. The manual, titled A History of Russia, 1900-1945, will form the basis of a new state-approved text book for use in schools next year. It seems to follow an attempt backed by Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to re-evaluate Stalin’s record in a more positive light. Critics have taken exception, however, to numerous excerpts, which they say are essentially attempts to whitewash Stalin’s crimes. In the West, it has been widely accepted that in the 1920s millions were shot, exiled to Siberia, or died of starvation after their land, homes and meagre possessions, were taken to fulfil Stalin’s vision of massive ‘factory farms.’ In the 1930s millions more whom he considered or suspected a threat to the USSR were executed or exiled to Gulag labour camps in remote areas of Siberia or Central Asia, where many also died of disease, malnutrition and exposure. Historians believe up to 20 million people perished as a result of his actions - more than the six million killed during Hitler’s genocide of the Jews. Gulag Worked to death: Although millions perished in Siberian Labour camps like this one, the textbook says that Stalin only did this to push through modernisation Now the new teaching manual is attempting to tell a generation of Russian schoolchildren that Stalin acted rationally. One of the authors, Anatoly Utkin, is keener to promote another statistic about Stalin, stressing some 10,000 books in his library had his personal jottings and marks in them. ‘Can you tell me of any other leader, an American president, for example, who read 10,000 books?’ Polish victim of Stalin Starved: A Polish child sent to a camp after the USSR's invasion of Poland following Stalin's pact with Hitler The manual informs teachers that the Great Terror of the 1930s came about because Stalin ‘did not know who would deal the next blow, and for that reason he attacked every known group and movement, as well as those who were not his allies or of his mindset.’ It stresses to teachers that ‘it is important to show that Stalin acted in a concrete historical situation’ and that he acted ‘entirely rationally - as the guardian of a system, as a consistent supporter of reshaping the country into an industrialised state.’ Editor Alexander Danilov said: ‘We are not defending Stalin. We are just exploring his personality, explaining his motives and showing what he really achieved.’ The controversial manual is produced by the country’s leading school book publishers Prosveshenije, a state-supported company that was a monopoly supplier of classroom texts in the Soviet era, and appears to be returning to that role. The company boasts: ‘We are proud that we brought up generations of Soviet people - and today we keep on improving our textbooks.’ With close links to the Kremlin, the company’s website states: ‘Prosveshenije remains one of the few effective instruments of national consolidation, a centre of forming and distributing Russian educational values.’ The teaching manual could not have been produced without the support and approval of the Russian government. Prominent Russian historian Roy Medvedev dubbed the manual ‘a falsification. Stalin by no means acted rationally all of the time, and many of his actions damaged the country.’ Stalin support Vain: During his reign Stalin also enforced his own cult of personality Before World War II, he said, ‘many in the military ranks were arrested, like my father, for example, and their children, little boys, were sent to the front.’ Alexander Kamensky, head of the history department at the Russia State University for the Humanities, said the manual was, ‘sadly,’ a sign that teaching history in schools has become ‘an ideological instrument.’ But it seems to echo Putin’s remarks to a group of history teachers in June 2007 when he said while Stalin’s purges were one of the darkest periods of the country’s history, ‘others cannot be allowed to impose a feeling of guilt on us.’ An earlier manual called Stalin an ‘effective manager’."

Not yet, I want a marked off range to do that so I can sight it in. I'd like to have 1000 yards min. I've found that taking and shooting the .45 pistols when I'm out climbing works better. They only need 10-30 yards of space and an embankment behind them. Generally there is either too many trees around here when there's no folks (forest), or too many people when there's no trees (farms). Not conducive to long range shooting. I will say, to get back on topic, that it's mere presence alone has compensated for the small penis issue. Now I don't need to get a bigger or louder horn or a truck with these:
