  1. No shit, both of you dudes had remarkable high mileage damned impressive FA weekends. I'm proud of you kids. Kevino, whats the story? Sweet looking route.
  2. Link "Old Farmers Almanac: Global cooling may be underway By David Tirrell-Wysocki, Associated Press Writer DUBLIN, N.H. — The Old Farmer's Almanac is going further out on a limb than usual this year, not only forecasting a cooler winter, but looking ahead decades to suggest we are in for global cooling, not warming. Based on the same time-honored, complex calculations it uses to predict weather, the Almanac hits the newsstands on Tuesday saying a study of solar activity and corresponding records on ocean temperatures and climate point to a cooler, not warmer, climate, for perhaps the next half century. "We at the Almanac are among those who believe that sunspot cycles and their effects on oceans correlate with climate changes," writes meteorologist and climatologist Joseph D'Aleo. "Studying these and other factor suggests that cold, not warm, climate may be our future." It remains to be seen, said Editor-in-Chief Jud Hale, whether the human impact on global temperatures will cancel out or override any cooling trend. "We say that if human beings were not contributing to global warming, it would become real cold in the next 50 years," Hale said." ....more
  3. "McCain's campaign rolled out a fresh televison ad that says Obama's only education accomplishment is "legislation to teach comprehensive sex education" to kindergartners." The ad raises the question "learning about sex before learning to read?" and calls Obama "wrong for your family." You don't even have to look it up on Snopes to know this is bullshit. I makes you wonder how to catagorize the Palin birth control method.
  4. That's bullshit, I just looked it up to see and not only was it spelled correctly but my picture was right there.
  5. Ditto. Sad to see a good person who is also a good climber check out. For many of us, this really means we are much closer to that edge than we think or believe. ... I'm planning on hanging it out a bit this weekend, if I don't start spraying Monday, it's not any consolation to my family that I bit off more than I could chew and checked out earlier than I should have. In my mind, it's still better than sitting at home getting old and fat watching the ball games on TV. We all go, most of us can't determine the when. My father died when I was 18 mo. old from Brain Cancer. Not a fast or happy experience for anyone concerned. I've been fortunate enough that I've already gotten 18 solid and great YEARS with my youngest. Wish I could have climbed with Ryan, sounds like a good fella, I don't wish this on anyone, and hope that Ryan's family can find some small peace or comfort in the joy he obvious got out of life. Such sadness should not be visited on those so young--- ever. Wishing the best for those who loved Ryan.

    LIBERALS

I admit to being guilty of insulting these people on this very forum, although their condition might be better classified as social retardation. In either case, it's nice to see LESS, not MORE insults.
  7. I don't believe that's the case, I don't know that he's ever posted here, or on any climbing related BBS for that matter. Dru had said he posted as Trask. Trask was banned...ergo...

    Bad change ?
  13. I don't know how that works, but I can pour for any one who steps up I do have to say though, one or 2 would help one loosen up, but more than that and I have visions of a leashless tool flipping over through the air a few times and planting into a spectator skull as someone slips off a hold and loses their grip... I'm surprised that didn't happen last year even with no beers. I'll be there in the free beer keg line for sure if anyone wants to say hi to me. I'll buy plenty of raffle tickets John, it's a good cause ---- esp if they can use the proceeds to put some new bolts into Dwayers backyard. I'd pay extra for that. Just sayin' is all...
  14. I'll look for it John. Looks like Winter had a hell of a time too. Clean granite....ohhhhh MG hand me a Kleenex.
  15. The polls are wrong. Obama is taking this one.
  16. Holy F John, gorgeous line! Did you do a TR? ____________________________________________________ My weekend. Some cleaning pics. I freed up Ujahns line up the 100' to just below this block, and it was bigger (and sicker) than the picture shows. Maybe 12-15', and it appeared to be unattached from all sides. The line will go right up the left side there, with the only pro in the loose block thinggy. So I jugged up and kicked it, it doesn't want to come off. Hitting the top with my palm it sounded hollow and vibrated. Looked over and there was Kyle getting ready to set up another rap (zoomed in). Regular frame. I was trying to stay under the death block to keep the blocks Kyle was rolling off 100' up off my ass. Once he got to here, I could come out and play. Here it was last week with Ujahn on it - he's almost center of the pic. He's just above and right of the block which shows as a shadow/overhang making a mess. That was Saturday. ______________________________________________________________ Sunday: Jimmy's Favorite. 5.10a FA Bill Coe and Kyle Silverman 9 7 08 Start of route Middle of the line Topping out Kyle following Kyle rapping off. Finished up shooting the .45's. The Les Baer made those holes in the box with 2 clips of 8 per at 50 feet the previous trip to Cathedral. I didn't come close to those kinds of groups at Jimmy's and was 10' closer. I think it was the dirt in my eyes from cleaning all day *cough* bullshit* cough*. Kyles eyes seemed unaffected though, hmmm:-)
  17. Blew them up and sealed them Put one at Ozone Wednesday And one at Rocky Butte Thursday. I don't expect the Rocky Butte one to last long. I wrote on felt tip on the Ozone one, "please give poster to Jim Opdycke after event". I checked on both this weekend and they were still there. Anyone thinking to run some b & w handouts to give out at the Madrone cleanup?
  18. Damn John, I can see why you're doing the crossfit! What kind of vertical elevation is that?
