Awesome. Thats out there. How about "the start of day 2" picture where he's cramponing up snow and the rope looks poised to soon hit that loose looking block.

Nice vid, after seeing some of the jerky, low quality ones, this is nice. You could have filmed the 2nd rappelling down next for an overview. Looking straight up or from the rim, either way.

LOL, I probably deserved that.

I don't know why you're complaining jb, he got us out of Iraq, finally established the long overdue Energy policy for the country and closed Guantanamo and he seems like a nice guy. I'm really proud that the head cheese is literate and intelligent again. Even the colleges seem to sense it. President Obamas major campaign contributors: "The organizations themselves did not donate, rather the money came from the organization's PAC, its individual members or employees or owners, and those individuals' immediate families." The average benefit was $4000 but it cost you, the taxpayer, $24,000 per vehicle to give the folks who did participate in the give away program the $4,000. http://money.cnn.com/2009/10/28/autos/clunkers_analysis/index.htm I heard an economist quote that figure and was in disbelief. So I went and looked it up. How the money just disappeared is beyond me, must be fuzzy accounting? We tossed $20,000 away for each car we bought? So I pitched it to my brother, and he said that the entire stimulus program cost us all $60,000. He said if the gov't had just given everyone the money, there would have been much more stimulus. I, for one, could use that money. WTF?

That's a good one Jayb. I think I made that call back when Barak was elected. But look at the alternative...another tax borrow and spend republican?

Redpoint Climbers Supply of Smith Rock Robbed

Well I would think this topic needs to stay on track and not degrade into another internet yell fest/chest thumping session. I suspect that they could use all the advice and help we can offer during this stressful time of trial's and tribulations which they are facing. I'm sure you wish them the best, as do we all. When Feather Friends had that container full of finished products stolen from them before Christmas, some folks bought gear from them. I'd always wanted a great coat, like they make. I had been too cheap to actually spring for it though, preferring to make due with a 30 year old frostline kit coat. My brother thought he owed me a favor so he ordered one with Event fabric for Christmas. It was win-win-win. Here's my $300 plus long overdue coat that did not show up for 6 months, until the end of June. The picture was taken July 4th. I am grateful to both be able to assist FF, get a great coat and memory of my brother every time I need to be warm. Totally awesome all the way around. Small things matter. If your car broke down in Duval, it would be nice to have a down coat like this one eh? I twice gotten that 4 x 4 there stuck within a mile of that pic, and there's no cell service. Perhaps we can do something similar for Redpoint as well? -

Yes, that is what means. I went and curled up with my book. (thanks Ivan) The books are approx an 7-8.5 with strong engagement and attachment with 9 being Dostoevsky, Steinbeck, Asimov and some others of course being higher. While the movie, to me, was much less than that on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being totally kick-assed and 1 being the Penthouse take on Caligula or a Ron Jermey movie when he got fat and no hot women would do him movie. So I'm sticking with "Yes". I suppose had I been puffing on the Thai stick, if might have gone up a few points, but as it was, the story line was geared towards a simpleton and seemed very predictable. In fact, that is what makes GSpotters copy of the written notations rendition above so funny to me. It just cracked me up again! I was thinking of this: Which G brought home quite interestingly with a tweak of originality the movie plot lacked!

Redpoint Climbers Supply of Smith Rock Robbed
billcoe replied to RedpointSupply's topic in Climber's Board
That's a massive amount of goods. Ouch. I'll be keeping my eyes open as well locally. I hope that they bust these dirtbags and that it's all recovered, but given that it's all new, with no marks or defining characteristics.....man, that so sucks. -
The question I have is why is putting in a bolt such a violation of the public trust and of low moral standards, but it's OK to bash the f*ck out of a crack with pitons anytime and any place, and thus proceed to cause irreversible damage to the rock? (abiet minimal with each passing but on aggregate it all adds up). Seriously. WTF, what ever happened to clean climbing? I think if someone is doing any FA today, they should HAVE to leave any and every pin they bash in. Otherwise, if you need a fixed piece, put in a bolt and think of all the bros that will follow. I consider bolting much cleaner, greener and healthier to the game than pitons. There are of course some exceptions to this, any route that will be infrequently done, what difference does it make if it gets nailed 2 or 3 times?
-
Thats called French Trad and they asterix the guidebook isn't it? You know, where use of a ladder or a headstand to start still called free. Halifax, don't know that one, those guys bolted all kinds of routes in Maple Canyon, quite the contrast to Pinnacles, where the ethic is ground up/brown underwear......but "Climbing Trash"...heh heh

Woot! I was just going to call to see how this was going....congrats dude!
