I think that the President quoted me in his state of the Union speech last night JB. It won't be easy getting government spending under control, but if the President is committed to it, I believe that it will happen.

We have massive and difficult times periodically, we got through those and I'm sure we'll get through these. Do you think that always seeing the glass as half empty, (or less) is a good thing when complaining about it really won't affect any positive change but may have the opposite effect?

It seems to me that you're always (and only) bitching and complaining. I mean, I'm not saying we're perfect, but take a moment to count your blessings dude. There are so many good things you can hardly keep a hold of them all. Once would never know it from your posts. It's like you're so pissed off and angry at....like...everything! Any pictures of the gear you can provide for everyone? Earlier, I had taken some pics of my stuff, and posted them on Rockclimbing.com specifically for this reason. I've also painted my colors of blue and yellow, as opposed to just taped, my stuff, have felt tipped my name on slings, and even bought a metal stamping set so that initials can be stamped into some stuff. There are iron bars on my lower windows, 2 of my neighbors are home all day and there are 2 little yap yaps inside the house. I suspect it's probably not enough though. Damn that sucks for ya dude, hope you get it all back.

My vehicle was broken into and lots of tools stolen one night parked on the street right in front of my house, and I was pleasantly surprised that they were covered, less a $500 deductible. Allstate. As far as carrying all that shit in and out of my house every day, well, I became less lazy afterwards.

I've hitched to Yosemite twice. Sometimes it screws your plans up. Smitty and I were going to hitchhike up to do the Picket Traverse. Sat by the side of the freeway working on our tan lines with not a ride in sight. All day, no one. My older brother would just ride his bike. Several times he did the 260 miles to Lagrande with a beater bike because he disliked the bus.
