  1. Yes I would/do. I have used it with 10mm and a 7mm.
  2. Oops, my bad. Thanx.
  3. original post said Must be a different thread your are referring to. ....
  4. No shit. I think it is suck that anything happened, what ever happened. A pox on the houses of the silly-heads who started this.
  5. Actually, in the first report it said they were asleep in their tents.
  6. 40 - 50, then 30+, now "at least 20" Not making excuses for idiots, just making an observation...
  7. Then again you might run screaming from the Ushba Basic if you read the page I posted. Or you might not.
  8. This web page has lots of details on top rope self belay, but does discuss the lead self belay devices too.
  9. She was the one between my gf's and ehmic's left It went kinda like me, fern, ehmic, minx, e, ? chrisw, whirlwind, you...
  10. Spectacular! If i ever needed a reason to buy a 22" monitor... here it is. What a resource, thanks for pointing it out Don. [edit]Dru! I can't believe you never told me about this! You holding out on me???[/edit]
  11. The switch is push-push like on the P-tec's. Easy to operate. Same price as the P-T.
  12. Oooh, so late! As was your edit sucka!
  13. I expressed sadness when Paul confirmed that he haad talked top the people involved, then I've gone to the best source I know to confirm further, and told you I will post if I find out more. If this strikes you as trying to discredit the story, then so be it. And, as I said already, I don't think Canadians are above this type of b.s. In fact I know they aren't, just some of us are.
  14. Let's dig this old dog up again... Petzl now has the Tikka plus! Like the P-Tec Auruora, with I think, one major advantge. The switch is recessed, so harder to turn off in you pack. Also the new Myo family rox. LED and Halogen in one, with... AA batteries. YAY!
  15. If you going to the bugs, PM me, I might be headed tht way this summer too.
  16. Local media has been queried... They know nothing, but are going to ask the RCMP. I'll post if anything else comes up.
  17. Is it so impossible for you to believe that violence CAN exist close to home? I say carry a hickory pick handle in the backseat and watch Eastwood in "Pale Rider" before you leave. No, not at all. In fact I know it can happen here. See fern's post. I dofind it hard to believe that something of that magnitude could happen in a town of this size, and that I would hear nothing about it. I work in a store where we see lots of travelling climber's, I know some of the local police force, and my boss is heavily involved in many local organizations and such. So we are out there, and we heard NOTHING. Leads me to doubt. So, like I said, I doubt the truth of THIS particular story.
  18. No, not always tr city, but it is a risk you run there. These ones sound a bit rude though. TLG's right, there's always somewhere to avoid the crowds. Oh, and toproping is climbing too.
  19. Same as I said before, that I doubt the truth of this story.
