Even in high avy danger, there are safe places to travel. You should take an avy class Jon, it might help you break your current "I only climb in good weather" attitude. Hell, I went skiing during high avy danger during "Windstorm 2006" in February. The pow was sweet and the crowds were nill. I'm glad the wankers stayed home.

I've skied with a few boarders with snowshoes, and they kept up fine. Actually was a little faster switching to downhill and back, too. It just sucks having to snowshoe though, period.
