  1. In the Snow Creek Parking lot, there's a sign that has a bunch of rules on it for developing crags. One of the rules read something along the line of "Don't fucking bolts cracks you nimwits". I felt obliged to follow it just on principle. See, I'm a nimwit.
  2. Sure, that's why they slapped that metal grill on your face.
  3. ....as long as we could park a floating oil rig above it. That's a given. Wouldn't it be international waters then anyway??
  4. I think the middle east would be better of sinking into the arabian sea.
  5. I would suggest that some of the crack-bolters are sport-climbers who don't know how to climb cracks. Crack climbing is an art that takes practice. Given that a lot of sporto's are gym-graduates, many probably don't have the appropriate skills. Last time me 'n "pope" went to a gym (some place in Seattle), there was a just a little section in the giant complex with a hand crack. We walked right up this thing and most of the gym-rats stared at us like we were a couple of aliens. Not only aren't the sporty masses trained well (or at all) for cracks, they're not trained well to place protection. They learn, in the gym and at the sporty crags, that clippin' bolts is "how it's done". Go ahead....ask this crag-cravin' sport-monkey: I think in this case Raindawgy-dawg is right.
  6. Ninja monkeys? Now I've seen everything
  7. Pretty far Damn, there goes my college thesis idea
  8. In Holland they don't have to worry about the Muslims taking over the country. They are all too busy getting stoned running the "Coffee" shops.
  9. Come on, using a crowbar and a hammer, bolting cracks...it's fun. If you haven't done it, you should try it. It's very relaxing. Mmmmm...I love the smell of burnt rock after a good trundling session
  10. On a related note, it looks like you would have just been working a smelter all that time, but at least you'd be free now. I bet that workout beats CrossFit. linky
  11. We're already trying to do away with Iraq?
  12. Bolt the 2nd Step?
  13. 514 top outs this year?? What a madhouse
  14. Plan on a long walk. From what I've heard, it'll be gated below the Diamond Mine trailhead most of summer. Not sure about the latest, though.
  15. The least they could do is have some Fatah supporters for the little Hamasians to charge and shoot at. It would be like the classic cowboy and indians play I did in kindergarten
  16. Leavenworth Guidebook, whaa??
  17. I remember hearing of a case where a crevasse extraction went wrong when the rescuers setup a z-pulley on an overhanging lip. While trying to pull the fallen climber up, they got stuck where the rope cut into the crevasse. The rescuers continued pulling not realizing what they were doing, and eventually they broke the harness of the rescuee and they plunged into the crevasse never to be heard from again.
  18. Headed up there with an OLD friend and need another partner to back me up. Should be pretty easy going, camping in the basin below Burgundy Col Saturday, and climbing the west face of Paisano Pinnacle on Sunday. Shoot me a PM.
  19. You thought the snafflehounds in the Bugaboos are bad? Snaffle Attack in Germany
