Email sent about Guidelite sleeping pad -
Imagine the Bush family focusing on something that only benefits a small group of war mongering gluttons. Or course it's about the money, the same thing went for his grandfather when he didn't want to let go of all his Nazi steel investments that were taken away by the US Government under the Trading with the Enemy Act. That's right, if you didn't know it, the Bush family made their money from Adolph Hitler. Is it so much to think they made money off of Usama Bin Laden. Oops, got another FBI email I need to respond to.

Snowing Downtown Seattle, too. I think it rain on the ground though and definately not sticking. Snowing out my highrise office window though.

Snowing in Downtown Seattle from where I'm sitting. Should be the same in the Quah. I'm still game.

If you have not read his books, Touching the Void and This Game of Ghosts, I highly recommend them. They are great stories of different times in Joe Simpson's life, the latter being less about climbing and more of how he ended up climbing. One great story I remember is when his sister dared him to ride a tricycle down about 100 stairs near his house. If memory serves, he was pretty young (~10yrs) and made it all the way to the last step and went head over handle bars and landed breaking his arm. The guy was a glutton for punishment, literally.

Yes, there will be plenty of tools to go around with a nice surprise for those who come. You will need boots and crampons and definately some warm clothes. I have extra harnesses (2) and one extra helmet (w/headlamp) for anyone who does not but still wishes to come. The Plan: Be at the Issaquah P&R at 3:00pm 12/1/2005 around the SE corner entrance (NW Newport Way and Highway 900). Depending on how many people show up, so far about three others for sure, we will decide what location to hold it at to allow the most climbing time for everyone. Hope to see you there <timmay>

PM sent about big hexes -
That sounds good. I have yet to receive any PM's from anyone else though. So, the plan is to meet at the same spot (Issaquah P&R off exit 14 in the SW corner of main lot) at 3:00pm.

Here's a little program that I put together on my website. If you select a station about mid-way down the page, you can view a graph based on the NWAC data that is produced. It also logs the last 3 months so you can view a graph for say, WA Passes temps for the last week. Hmmmmmm.... might be time for some ice up there? Weekendclimber's Weather Graph <timmay!>

Alright, so it's time for another Seattle Drytool Night. Make sure to check the link below for what you should bring and I've also posted the preliminary forecast. Make sure to bring gloves and warm close to stand around in. Please, if you plan to attend PM me so that I can get a head count. Thanks and see you there. PDX Dry Tool Thread for what to bring and other info (note: for gear information only!!) Forecast Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and snow. Highs in the upper 30s. Thursday Night: Rain and snow likely. Lows in the lower 30s. <timmay!>

Damn dude! That sounds pretty wicked. Need to get out there myself sometime soon. -
We'll have to take a head count a few days before the next event (12/1/2005) to see how many people are going to be coming. If there are going to be a lot of people it might be more productive for everyone to meet at exit 38 due to the limited routes available at the spot in Issaquah.

Waiting for my girlfriend to get home from 3 months of being away....hell no!!!!
-
All who were there lastnight agreed to try and make this a weekly thing. Of course, with thanksgiving next week we'll have to postpone that one. But, let's go ahead and plan on meeting up again on Thurday the 1st of December. Who else would like to join?
-
Or is that, Less is More....yeah that's it:)

Good times! Good times! Thanks Alex, Selkirk and user000056 for coming out. Maybe next time more will show up, but the fewer the better.
-
I'm going to try to make it more of a weekly thing. A couple of people have already shown some interest. We've got at least two ropes (probably more) and plenty of extra gear and headlamps for anyone who wants to join us.
