  1. Bring your ice tools while you are out here and there is plenty of serac climbing to go around on the trail into base camp.
  2. Rock sweet rock. It's that time of year again. How were the crowds over there?
  3. I have climbed Baker several times, once with a rather inexperienced rope mate and other times with more experienced partners. It's more a matter of your confidence level than your experience for choosing a guided trip rather than hitching a ride with some other climbers. If you have absolutely no glacier experience then go with the guides, but if you have some or little experience the Colemand-Deming route is fairly safe. Of course, any glacier travel has it's inherant dangers but the Coleman-Deming route will have a very visible trail all the way up to the top at any given time in the summer (baring any heavy snowfall of course). Just make sure to have a good time and try to get in a hand stand on the summit.
  4. I have to attend a meeting of my old Boy Scout troop's. Expect a TR sometime tomorrow.
  5. Sweet!! I want to see a photo with the line on it too. I would have never guessed that thing could have gone as a ski run. Awesome!!
  6. Nice story and the pictures that show up are good too!
  7. Why not just move to Kent I used to live there and if you are working in Kent traffic won't be bad. It will shave off some time driving to the mountains (as long as it's Rainier or along I-90) and the rent is pretty low. Two definates: stay away from I-405 (eastside), there's already too many people using that thing. stay away from the northend, traffic will suck for sure everyday, even on the weekends.
  8. I believe there is a way around it from Index, if you drive down the road that leads past the climbing areas there. I've never tried it but I will if I get stuck in that crap again. It really sucks waiting that long to get to the Sultan Bakery when you are really hungry after climbing.
  9. Here's an idea Trogdor... I took this from the Narada Falls parking lot looking over the Nisqually bridge a little more than a week ago. I bet it's still fat since it's a little above 3400'.
  10. Yeah, but how much does it cost. That's what he seemed most concerned about.
  11. My vote is that he was just lost. Details
  12. Sweet line!! Let's see some more pictures.
  13. And a couple more to make Double_E a little more jealous... Panorama looking North (left) to East (right). Note the lack of clouds MattP shredding some first tracks in the chute with some tele turns. Fred packing in the picnic area of the world famous Pamela's Cook Shack. Known for their "All Day Breakfast", because it takes all day for them to get it to you
  14. Good job guys!! I'm sorry I decided against going along, but at least it sounds like you had fun. Did you take any pictures of around the corner to the right
  15. Umm, they have already started doing that. Drove by yesterday and they are gonna have to blow a whole bunch of rock out of that place to widen that road.
  16. I vote for an injuries and accident board. Anyone else?
  17. Women trouble again
  18. That just gives us AT skiers a chance to taste the good, sans lift ticket.
  19. I got some Bob Mackie Barbies I'll trade for some climbing gear. Might piss the girlfriend off, but at least I might get some more ice screws. Interested?
  20. One guy had a sign that read "Why are we camped out here? For shoes (So quit asking)".
  21. Yeah, that don't like you posting html dude. Rainier Cam
  22. Whew! I thought this was a thread about some lame movie. Sorry to hear about the back. Sounds like you'll be back in the game soon enough though. I would say something like do a lot of praying, only I don't believe in that. So, do a lot of and get better soon.
  23. Dude, just let the database handle the format, you just need to worry about the structure of the tables and normalizing everything. Unless you are modifying somebody elses code.
  24. You should post that over on the thread that was for the Seattle show dude?
