  1. Yeah, the lightning got seriously old. CO's winter weather is, without a doubt, much better than their summer weather. I would take PNW summers over CO summers in a heart beat. Having to end your day in the mountains at 3pm every day in the summer is real lame.
  2. Oddly, my first post praised a DEMOCRAT! Yeah, and he ended up being wrong, regardless of party. Supply side is BS and so is *your* president.
  3. How the hell did this degrade into a Canada vs. USA debate? The point here is that peepee can't just admit his party is a fucking joke, it has nothing to do with which nation is better.
  4. OK, i moved from WA to CO two years ago. To Boulder to be exact, which is considered a pretty great place to live as a Climber. I'm back in WA now. Why? CO sucks. The Rockies are a second rate show after you've climbed in the Cascades. I'm sure i'd find it just great if I hadn't lived in WA before but the lack of water, green and real alpine in CO makes it a far cry from WA. If it were up to me, I'd rather live in Olympia than ANYWHERE in the state of Colorado. Granted, Olympia isn't much of a city, but neither is Denver.
  5. They featured some redneck "minuteman" in a segment on the daily show a few weeks back defending the border from the hoardes of Canadian immigrants. One of the reasons he stated Canadians came her was for "the healthcare." First my jaw dropped, then I lost all words, then finally I broke down hysterically laughing. Needless to say that these are the type of people that share peepee's political stance.
  6. peepee, are you an actual human or simply a software figment of someone's imagination, programmed to meaninglessly regurgitate right wing blog dribble? For years you have stuck to your guns while the country has gone further and futher down hill. Can you honestly say, with a straight face, that this country is on the right track or is, in any way, better off now than 6 years ago? This administration has accomplished nothing aside from dropping us into this quagmire formally known as the "iraq war." Get a clue.
  7. calling peepee, where ya go??

    Hee Hee

Maybe they should visit the enumclaw petting zoo. I think Texans are in to that sort of thing...
  9. Naysayers? OK. You're right peepee, the debt situation is great. Much better than when Clinton had us whittling into it. Lots of people love the balooning deficit. South Korea and China come to mind in fact! Keep drinking the potion, i see it is working. Oh, by the way, did you hear that gays, liberals and illegal immigrants are the source of all this country's problems?
  10. Too bad it was Reagan's presidency, and particularly the aftermath, that showed fairly clearly that supply side economics don't benefit society as a whole. Not that benefiting the majority of society is what you or Bush cares about, but it's worth pointing out. Oh, by the way, what was the debt at again? Also, you may want to read the entire article, it's not all good news: "Economists tend to put more stock, however, in the much broader business survey of 400,000 work sites that is used to calculate the payroll figures. In May, job cuts at factories, retailing and other fields tempered job gains in education and health care, financial activities and elsewhere. The payrolls performance was much weaker than the 170,000 jobs that economists were forecasting would be added in May. They also were predicting the unemployment rate to hold steady at 4.7 percent. Adding to the weakness in the payroll picture: job gains for both March and April were lowered. Employers actually added 126,000 new jobs in April, instead of the 138,000 previously reported. For March, employment grew by 175,000, rather than 200,000." But why build policy based on sound economics when you can base it on ideologial dogma?
  11. None of that stuff is a secret. Get a sled and it is a treasure trove in there!

    Quote #2

Funny, sounds almost like a GW quote too!
  13. So in otherwords the mounties still recommend a minimum of four on a rope team, each with four pickets and rescue gear for this climb. Oh, and the ten essentials.
  14. Most will tell you it has suffered but it's still climbed (and skied) and would consider it a worthwhile objective. It is most likely going to be more crevassed than it was 50 years ago almost mostly all snow considering the large snow year.
  15. wouldn't the snoparks be closed by now? Seems in that area the snow might be thin enough now where the sleds start out.
  16. I really enjoyed that south face of klawatti descent as well. somewhat short, but a great line!
  17. dont' take this as an endorsment but when i did end up climbing it I used only a superlight aluminum axe and aluminum crampons. I also encountered a short section of near-ice but it was short enough that i could gingerly make my way past it. This time of year you'll find nothing but snow and I expect a single mountaineering axe would be the preferred choice for most people. -josh
  18. Trinity Trailhead -> Buck Creek Pass -> Suiattle Pass -> Cloudy Pass -> Lyman Lakes -> Spider Gap -> Spider Meadow -> Phelps Creek Trailhead. Jaw-dropping scenery includes meadows, lakes, glacier, high passes and incredible wildflowers. -josh
  19. It's a truly sweet area. THat was my first time up there a couple of days ago. When I was up there it would have been nearly impossible travel without skis, it was deep slush city! Did you see those truly bizzare crevasse ponds (for lack of a better term) at the base of the Colonial Glacier? They were clear blue ponds sitting on top of the snowpack, with cracks underneath them. It was one of the more odd things I have seen.
  20. Ivan, when the hell we going back after that momma deer any way??
  21. ...for a low-tech amurican POS engine. Japanese and Euro manufactuers have been getting way better numbers for years by simply designing engines not based on 1960s technology. My subbie's 2.5l 4cyl turbo makes 370hp and gets over 27mpg on the highway. Not to mention it gets to 60 nearly 2 seconds faster than this straigh-line amurican POS.
  22. So, when did you move here from Colorado? HAHAHAHA!!!
  23. Two questions... 1.)Where in god's name did you find a crack that size in the glacier? I did this tour a few days ago and did not come within 200 feet of a crevasse, and even that was on the neve glacier. There was absolutely nothing visibile on the colonial. 2.)How in god's name did you stand that tour without skis? That is a slog deluxe.
  24. All piss beer is the same but I am definitely a Budweiser man simply due to their ads. I admit it. The Miller (idiotic 30+ only ads) and Coors (silver bullet love train garbage) ads are pathetic trash but the Budweiser ones are either amusing (magic fridge, etc.) or feature good music, like the new one with the Chemical Bros songs.

    MacIntosh

"2.6.10-1.770_FC3" LOL. Sure you don't need to recomplie again?? Gotta love Linux - an entire fad dependent on anti-MS sentiment for 95% of its support.
