You could reach the white river road already, but you still can't get up the white river road to the campground/trailhead.

[TR] Argonaut Peak- Jason's Esophagus (NE Couloir/Gully) 5/2/2004

Should I be concerned this person will try to hurt me should I run across him in the mountains? Sounds a little nuts, to say the least. -

I'd to imagine so. The stuarts are probably the easiest of the "big" mountains to access in the winter. I'm sure the area between colchuck lake and stuart lake sees the most concentrated number of climbers in a given winter. -

LOL. Don't worry, I've been busy going up the cascade river road once a week for the past 2 months to worry about the Stuart range That coulior looks like a pretty ski tho. -
: That's a keeper, Josh. Fairweather, the king of partial quotes. Your boy's business dealings are fucking corrupt.

First, it's his wife's fortune. Second, I would rather see him be rich on account of sucessful company fortune rather than a fortune built on family connections, shady kickbacks and just general fuck-the-public oil money.

Lowell, in general was the terrain such that skis remained on for the majority of the traverse? It looks like a neat area with some cool peaks along the way.

Go to the gallery and look at my pictures. Open the pic and click on it to show the huge one.

With all the problems in Iraq and the world today, do you know what we *really* need to make this country a better, stronger, place? A constitutional amendment against gay marriage! Clearly this is the solution for all the world's problems!!

Yup, it's taken from Sourdough. Great viewpoint. Tod, check out the full res version of the picture. You actually can see the flatness of Azure lake in that one.

I have no clue about this guy, but I did find this below excerpt. The guy is in prison for other shit, but apparently some sick shit was going down. "The scandal originated with the collapse of the minority-oriented Franklin Community Credit Union in Omaha, directed by Lawrence E. King, Jr., a nationally influential black Republican who sang the national anthem at both the 1984 and 1988 Republican conventions. King became the subject of the Nebraska Senate's investigation conducted by the specially created ``Franklin Committee'' to probe charges of embezzlement. In November 1988, King's offices were raided by the FBI and $40 million was discovered missing. Within weeks, the Nebraska Senate, which initially opened the inquiry to find out where the money had gone, instead found itself questioning young adults and teenagers who said that they had been child prostitutes. Social workers and state child-care administrators accused King of running a child prostitution ring. The charges grew with the former police chief of Omaha, the publisher of the state's largest daily newspaper, and several other political associates of King, finding themselves accused of patronizing the child prostitution ring. King is now serving a 15-year federal prison sentence for defrauding the Omaha-based credit union. But the magazines Avvenimenti of Italy and Pronto of Spain, among others, have charged that King's crimes were more serious: that he ran a national child prostitution ring that serviced the political and business elite of both Republican and Democratic parties. Child victims of King's operations charged him with participation in at least one satanic ritual murder of a child several years ago. The Washington Post, New York Times, Village Voice and National Law Journal covered the full range of accusations after the story broke in November of 1988. King's money machinations were also linked to the Iran-Contra affair, and some say that King provided the CIA with information garnered from his alleged activities as a ``pimp'' for the high and mighty. This one is particuarlly revealing..."Republican anti-gay activist Earl "Butch" Kimmerling confessed to molesting an 8-year old girl after he attempted to stop a gay couple from adopting her." One has to question why the majority of the republican party is so fucking obsessed with what gay people are doing. For a party who's aim is supposed to be keeping government out of our lives, they sure seem to like to meddle in others people's business. Also, has anybody else noticed how much repubs like to drag out Colin Powell's (who along with Condasleazy Rice function as Bushie's token blacks) name to show the diversity in the cabinent, but don't like to point out the fact that Colin has already stated he won't be returning to work for Bush again?

"I have never climbed"... I just lie to get partners.

Not to mention the general pain in the ass factor of crossing the nisqually once it gets broken. If I try this route again I'll definitely look into the approach you recommend.

Has anybody around here done a traverse of Ragged Ridge? Specifically, Cosho, Kimtah, Katsuk and Mesatchie peaks? If so, any beta would be much appreciated. thanks! -josh

Yeah, there wasn't a single crevasse visible on it the other day. In fact, if I hadn't been on the mountain before when the glacier was dry I wouldn't have even known it was a glacier. Go up and get on it soon; this is the best time. It's gentle but fun, so the hazard factor is quite low.

Hi, this is Greg on Josh's account...looking for current beta on the traverse.....from northwestern glacier to exit.....thanks, g my email is gsfranson@hotmail.com

Yeah, just like every other mountain in the area Baker cleared off around 5 or 6pm tonight. It got gorgeous around then, which, like I said, was coincidentally right when I got back to the car. At least visibility was good...the skiing was actually quite awesome on ruth. Cherish that record, it's one for the ages!

Climb: Ruth Mountain-Ruth Glacier Date of Climb: 5/2/2004 Trip Report: I skied Ruth MOuntain today. I guess there isn't much to say because it's not all that intersting but figured somebody might want the conditions info or sumpin. The road is melted out to within about 1/4 mile of the trailhead. I walked the trail for about 2 miles (snow on and off) then descended down to Ruth Creek. From then on the snowpack is nice and consistent and I just skied straight up the basin to the notch past hannegan pass then right up the summit "ridge" to the top. It's a great mellow ski. If you are on skis I wouldn't bother with hannegan pass at all, just go right up the creek and valley. As is typical, the sun was poking through making me hot the entire way up, then it clouded up so I couldn't see much beyond Shuksan. Of course by the time I got back to the car it was pretty much bluebird. At least I got some good view of Shuksan from the lower part of the road above the nooksack river. That's a great viewpoint. Gear Notes: Skis, Skins, Poles, camera

Aint it great having Mother Kanada take care of all your health care needs? Oh, the rascally communists! Cleary it's better to have your quality of healthcare be determined by your income like in the good ol' USA!

I've always been really happy with Discount Tire's service. I have boycotted Les Schwab since the stories about ol' Les giving money to white hate groups.

Somebody on here last year was talking about seeing a black bear walking across the blue glacier.
