  1. mule creek canyon is an old faultline the river gets squeezed through, all-natural as far as I know. couple fatalities off those first rocks before the coffeepot though! not a good place to swim. graves creek -> marial = classic river fun.
  2. Interesting use of dynamite: Back in the day, Glen Wooldridge would navigate the Rogue River in southern Oregon with a bag of dynamite in the front of his rowboat. When he came to boulder-choked rapids that seemed impassable, he'd drop a bag of dynamite into the water, row like hell back upstream, blew a hole open, and on he went. Shaped the now super-classic class 4 Blossom Bar.

it helps if you put your forehead right on the monitor for like an hour or so. That helps the brainwave absorbtion and it can tell what you thunk more better.

  17. I know someone's done it in scarpa denalis but they had to do a hell of a lot of frontpointing (it may have been here?) Said it paid off big-time for the good skiing while waiting to acclimatize though. (Sorry it's just second-hand knowledge)

if you could somehow work in subliminal messages into the game to discount season passes to cc.com members then you've got something there.
  19. Apparently Goran Kropp did if I remember that incident correctly, but details seem to remain hazy on that one. It's funny how climbers make these decisions. Hmm...looks scratched up but not too scratched up...it's a go!
  20. 48 hour closure...that'll cost millions. So rare to see that in an area so dialed-in to slide mitigation.
