  1. I think that "rug" is specifically to make sure the seat cannot remain in its fully upright and locked position. it is a marital aid.
  2. It's all you got in spray right now baby
  3. only if you want the thing to look like an indy track
  4. I always use the handicap stall at timberline. A guy could damn well hold a twister contest in there. My vote for worst public bathroom: mt. hood meadows what is it about skiing that makes folks stink up the joint so bad?
  5. tell me about it, I was eyeing the olympus stylus digitals that are weatherproof. But then I start reading about shoddy image quality on those stuck-up digital photo sites...then I find out they are all using nikon f5's as their "real" camera, and their lenses cost more than my car.
  6. yeah we should have a link to the links page which links you to a link with a list of ski mountaineering links.
  7. I dislike the transparent and over the top attempts to create a "superhero" in the white house. Yeah brandishing a delicious fake turkey to the troops, landing on aircraft carriers in flight suits, speaking to completely biased audiences, possibly starting forest fires as backdrops, sending chumps to mars, etc. are pretty harmless and have been done many times before (maybe not the fire bit), but it insults everyone when it is so blatant. The folks who eat it up with their american flag matching shirts in the mobile home are disturbing though.

BUT how about that show on TLC documenting a shift in the ER? I SWEAR in this one scene where they are giving cpr to this fat guy and his wife is going all nuts and stuff...in the background, a little blurred but clear enough, you can see an old lady being treated for a fall in the kitchen... and for a brief second I do believe you can see her left jug. ohhh nelly

  16. They are quite adjustable; a screwdriver and some cranking time is all that is required. A power screwdriver is a nice thing to have for this, esp when going from at boots (shallow, din heel rand) to climbing boots (bigger heel rand)
  17. I don't think you'll be disappointed with any of those choices provided you use it enough to be familar with it. It seems everyone's favorite beacon is most often the one they own (as they are most familar with its behavior)
  18. climb approach: plastic boot/silvretta 500/175cm Atomic tourguides (or shorter) skiing in area and shorter tours, at your skill limit: Diamir Freeride/K2 AK Enemy Dynafits are so nice and light, tempting. Maybe I should drill some holes in my invernos!

  20. Those locals deserve a break. Many of them have been snowed in for days with 84 closed. We were trying to bust through the old highway by Ainsworth. When we decided to turn around, I of course plowed my Taco into the snow and promptly highcentered. As we sheepishly dig out, of course ODOT shows up and starts giving us the "can't you read" lines. He was probably pretty stressed out after the last few days.
  21. yeah we were climbing by headlamp, we are desparate in oregon
  22. Good to see you got out shred, I wound up heading out with some folks kinda last minute. We were confronted by ODOT on the old highway after we did a little road closure violation over by Ainsworth. We descided to beat a retreat when he called up the state police to lay down the law. We ended up at wakeena falls. That curtain thing to the right Smooth Operator
  23. I wonder why that girl is holding a poker. A quote from a "film critic":
  24. I would think any water would help, frozen or not. Surely just having it in your mouth melting would give some benefit to hydrating yourself. Esp. since hydration is so closely linked to hypothermia. I'm sure I would start sucking on snow in desperation (but he seemed to find some running water)
  25. nope, sorry
