one thing to note though is those canopy lock cores are pickable with a ski wicket in about 10 seconds, though they are usually frozen solid when I go skiing. so maybe 20 seconds, after dosing it with wd-40

I just throw them in the bed. I have a canopy. At some point I will get my truck bed line-x'd so I stop scratching up the thing, but w/ the canopy on paint chips are not that big a deal. If you are worried about your edges detuning by bumping the truck bed or scissoring each other then you are a better skier than I.
