i thought the city or state or county contributed heavily to an life insurance policy for people with this kind of risky job. I know i have the option to increase the amount of my pay that goes to my company provided life insurance policy. it is sad when someone falls in the line of dutey, but it seems to me that the needs of the family should have been thought of long befor any kind of event like this.

thats what i was thinking. I don't know that guy or anything about his accident, but if my boys were to die in an accident or in any other way, i would want to go with them as i do not think i could go on with out them. peace to the family left behind. my heart is utterly broken for all of them.

that is the saddest thing i have read today.

this kind of thing reminds me of the guided fishing trips my dad used to go on. he had a great time and came home with a ton of fish but the guide did every thing but wipe his ass. just because you are holding the fishing pole when the fish jumps on does not make you a knowledgeable fisherman. same holds true for climbing. you can learn a lot from a class, and going out with guides. but you do not prove your salt as a climber until you are the one making the decisions. I do not let the Things lead. they are in no way focused enough. that is not a slam on my kids... that is age appropriate.

i am still not a climber. I spent the weekend in PDX and had dinner at the Melting Pot. shopped. slept in. it was nice. dear god i am tired of limping.

obsolete? last time i checked buildings were still being built houses were still being built and or repaired and remodled. bridges are being built and sometimes repaird city streets and highways are being rebuilt. cows still need to be herded and looked after and food has to be grown. there is nothing derogitory about being a blue collar worker. that is part of the problem with generation x americans on the whole. no one wants to get thier hands dirty. one could argue not enough bridges are being repaired...but i digress... that was exactly my point. i love it when you catch my little muffyisms

i had to have minor surgery on the bottom of my foot this week. Up to that point, i had been making really good progress. i have more pt on the 20th. my stride is getting better. and i was able to hike last week with not very much pain at all. i have been laying off the climbing and trying to concentrate on healing. it sucks but it is easier to do the right things when i feel like i am making progress. this week feels like a bit of a set back but i am hanging in there. thanks for asking mikey xooxoxxoxoxox

My Dad says of those who ride there are people who have been down and people who are going down. if you ride enough it will happen. it is when my parents ride together that i get their relationship. the rest of the time i think they are insane.

i have a helmet and a leather jacket and gloves!!!!! i go back and forth about wanting my own. I love harley's totally... but i don't know if i have the attention it takes to ride in the front seat.
