  1. Dude, are you holding out on the hot tranny porn?
  2. lamentably, conservaphucks seem incapable of grasping this concept i don't know if hate is the right emotion for ole'rush anyhow - you can't really hate something that isn't human, no? dehumanization of the "other" is a prime tactic of those who employ hate to rationalize their evil - from the Nazis straight to you Ivan. Irony.
  3. Here's a little cheatsheet for those who aren't too gud at math:
  4. Yup, what Sobo said. Send me a pm with your email address, I'll put you in the loop for when the crag dries out.

    Hee-Haw

Well, sometimes its just about food, and subsistence isn't a sporting event. Then I watched the vid, and I'm pretty sure those guys have never missed a meal in their life...
  6. Naturally, we all want the inside dope, the real nitty gritty, to know every salacious detail of this blind date gone awry. A public outing might also result in a very entertaining interweb pissing match, and we all like a good show. It's already a fine cautionary tale that justifies all the sage "try before you buy" advice regarding internet climbing partners. I'd advise doing a little frank self assessment to decide how much you just want to give this yahoo a public poke in the eye as payback, and how much is really about public safety.
  7. The entire Homeland Security boondoggle is a clear indication that Al Queda flat out destroyed us with the destruction of the world trade center. Maximum impact for minimum effort. The total costs associated with the bullshit "war on terror", from the stupid Iraq war to the lost productivity from HS's attempts to close the barn door after Elvis has left the building, makes the physical cost of the actual buildings and lives seem like peanuts. Financially, its probably the greatest military victory in the history of the human race. Even a failed attempt like the recent pants bomber wanker succeeds in causing real financial damage beyond the perpetrator's wildest dreams.
  8. Sorry to hear it Rudy. Life is memorable and valuable because of the choices we make and the people we touch. I'm glad you had a second mom, think of her fondly and often, and tell lots of stories about her. Be an additional parent yourself, follow her example.
  9. They say self knowledge is the beginning of wisdom...
  10. You must look Hawt in that! Oh, I think we'd all be much happier if he would re-gift it to Muffy...
  11. Like removing a band-aid, I find its best done quickly.
  12. Just don't let it hit Beacon Rock, no telling what would happen...
  13. Coming from the Master, I'll take that as a compliment. I don't disagree with your sentiment, I just think you overstate your case.
  14. Right, because no one ever gets shot over something that's legal? Legalization won't bring the price down to the cost of a head of lettuce, and some folks want to steal anything of value. I do think there would be much less violence and the organizational aspect of the drug trade would change, with gangs like Phillip Morris and Monsanto running the show instead. My experience with concerned parents suggests that most of them are afraid their children are going to do what they did. Evidence from the field (my offspring are 18 and 28) suggests that not to be the case.
  15. This was a huge memorial, Luke clearly touched a lot of people's lives.
  16. Hey Mister, keep it in your pants!
  17. Oh, is this how you imagine your contribution to spray looks like? Sorry Buttercup, you're more like a little ray of sunshine than a raw sewage outfall.
  18. You've missed the reference, here's a little background: Tom Patey. The man never climbed in the North Cascades that I'm aware of. One Man's Mountains is the seminal collection of his writing, certainly on many climbers lists of top 10 books about climbing. Kroc was referring to Patey's description of a fine tradition of misdirection and dissembling when discussing possible climbing projects. Given the amount of attention lavished on the Cub Lake area over the years, I'd be very surprised if 7940 hasn't seen an ascent, but I'm sure there are ample unclimbed lines in the area. Its a pity the approach got 9 miles longer with the road washout.
  19. Well, the point is that it isn't wild, its a road with a washed out section in need of repair. If Hwy 20 gets closed again by a rockfall past Newhalem, should we just "leave it wild"? I'd sure like to see the Westside road reopened at MRNP too, probably more than the Stehekin road, but I didn't know that one was even under discussion.
  20. Oh my, what an ugly thread this has become.
  21. My, but you really have become quite the whack and dangle merchant, haven't you Ivan? Nice pics, good idea too.
  22. Here's just the thing for the opinionated whining misanthrope has-been on your shopping list:
  23. The original post is certainly related to the recent Mt Hood accident, and the portrayal of that peak as "deadly" in the media fueled conversation about risk, rescue, regulation, and responsibility. To that end, its certainly of value to determine some facts regarding deaths in the mountains rather than just carrying on about how one feels about the risk associated with any given peak. Knowing the statistics will allow any of us to counter the uninformed arguments others might make. That makes the generality of the subject quite useful, and I don't think its morbid..
  24. Yeah, there's something more appealing about the one on the beach as compared to the ones with the weapons. Girls with guns should mean forearms, not firearms.
