  7. Yes, John Roskelly wrote a book about the expedition; he was a member.
  8. Didn't Willi Unsoeld name his daughter after Nanda Devi? I know it was one of the guys from the '63 Everest Expedition.
  9. quote: Originally posted by Dru: "Here is a rope, rack, and diagram showing how to tie 2 clove hitches. See ya back here tonight, if you live till then"? I admit that this does interest me; more for solo aid, though. I understand the concepts, but would benefit from someone setting the whole thing up so I can go, "Oh, yeah, that's what I thought."
  10. I always like the G-man's advice on gun-buying. He always said buy a .357 wheel gun; not too many moving parts, lots of stopping power, and it can sit in the drawer for months and still be ready for action at a moments notice! Yeah!!! Maybe Santa will bring me one this year.
  11. Hey, ease up on the G-man. I used to listen to his radio show when I lived in Eastern WA; pretty lively.
  12. quote: Originally posted by JGowans: Thanks for all the replies. I've got quite a few offers now and I reckon I'll soon get to meet some of you out there. What's rope-up btw? Is it some kind of bavarian dominatrix thing in leavenworth that i should know about? seriously, where & when & what is it? Where: Everyone is camping at Bridge Creek Campground in the Icicle Canyon. When: This weekend What: Drunken debauchery, mass consumption (and regurgitation) of dairy products, and rock climbing.

I think that was actually Hall and Oates Oops, she did do a tough-chic song; can't remember the name. Pat Benetar was hot in the '80's, though. Those headbands, that big hair, the spandex, mmmm..... JGowans, stay away from thelawgoddess, she's a maneater, Pat Benetar style. Shhh, don't tell her I told you...

  17. No brainer - Stout baby!
  18. Tex and JK will be driving through.
  19. They're a rough crowd. Muffy and Anna make those 80's women-in-prison movies look like a family show.
  20. Back to the top for today. Thanks for the directions/map Rodeo. Is it possible that we may see the venerable Sisu and MtnGoat tonight?

    Cytomax

I was surprised to find that the Peach flavor was palatable. I'm not much of a peach guy, but it was okay. I don't use Cytomax late in the day; to replenish electrolytes in the evening I use Ultima (doesn't have the energy boost to keep you up).
  22. quote: Originally posted by North by Northwest: S-10s and S-10 Blazers suck. So do older Rangers and Bronco IIs (aka Canadian Land Rovers) though too. Bigger simpler and more accessible is the way to go. More power is good too. I would clarify this to say that the 2.8-l V-6 in the S-10 & S-10 Blazer sucks. The 4.3-l is a solid engine in both these vehicles.
  23. Impossible to know for sure, no use speculating. Here's some tools for a speedy recovery, Stefan: . Greg W
  24. quote: Originally posted by Fence Sitter: ahem 351 greg Ford? I do have to admit that I met a dude in a Jeep that had a badass-sounding 351 Windsor engine in it. Chevy's the way to go go go.
