winds were insane on the n side too - pat and i climbed the first step of the right gully of the n face, but we bailed after a tv sized rock missed pat by a foot
during a fat winter high pressure system like we have here for the next few days, the conditions are pretty ideal - drive on up to timberline and follow the herd! an altimeter/compass are advisable for getting back down if it clouds up - plenty of warm clothes advisable too - you don't particularily need a partner for the standard southside route
i haven't done it, but it looks a hell of a lot steeper/rockier - i think it used to be the mtn's hardest route till yocum and the spider crawled along?
hey moof, how would the new anchors do for holding a portaledge? is the wall there nice and flat? any place for backup gear to reinforce the anchor/haul?
inshahallah - probably walk up there and bivy on the elliot on saturday and get on the route first light on sunday - there's room for at least 2 parties on the n face (and all the fools in the world who don't mind following below them )
i was living in texas during the clinton years and here in seattle during the bush years... absolutely no comparison.
so...by your experience, who was more hated then?
would hooking a homeboy up to this rig and making him watch 48 consecutive hours of the home-shopping channel count as torture?
would it get him to divulge the whereabouts of the secret rebel base?
was the rabid hatred of liberals for bush any different from the rapid hatred of conservatives for clinton?
the main difference i see is that clinton fucked up his personal life - bush fucked up our national life.
as a general rule, i don't trust climbers who don't use drugs - by far the most fucked up shit that's happened to me in the mountains has happened in the company of the narrow and straight
actually, if you read the article, it just says you can't go to jail for boffing your 18 year old students - you still lose your job and your license, so you better make your one shot count
indeed - seems like it's gonna be damn warm for the fun routes on hood - i'm reckoning on going up to the n side anyhow but figuring i might have to settle for doing the spur if shit's rattling 'round the n.f. gullies
that was no water moccasion - part of josh's problem was the massive case he was suffering of what we politely refer to as "the trots" down south
it's funny - that pic makes the creek look tame - holy shit it wasn't though! i think it was more mid-thighish...
