    Wake up slaves

a couple of atheist quotes might be in order? "you can not legislate taste" and "i disagree with what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it" "hauling them all off" only results in their cause gaining sympathy and thus, their message, validity - the result of that of course is, free speech being denied, a bottomless supply of them take to violence, since they have no other choice. each one of those "god hates fags" sign is therefore like listening to a bullet bounce off a steel wall, a reminder that, in a dangerous world, you've found a safe place...

I wish... nonsense - gotta love those guys! its good to see the 1st amendment as an emergency thermostat on the radiator of insanity that is the american republic. you have to choose between psycho religious types who strap on bombs vs those who strap on billboards, dig? which do you prefer?

    Wake up slaves

waking up sure ended well for this fellow and his followers!
  10. nice, soon enough, eh? gotta get bob out to smiff sometime in the middle of april? he can take pictures of the shiprock ascent as he won't want to be anywhere near it as for getting off the cowdog, i did indeed suffer a clusterfuck the first time i did it when the last of the 2 raps got stuck b/c of terrain drag - however, it is pretty straitforward to scramble off after doing hte first, clean rap though - either claw your way through the back of the tight cave or do an easy, highball traverse on its outside, scree surf down the gully (not a great idea if there's a bunch of people assembled at the base), then do 2 bits of 4th class downclimbing (the last bit is the hardest, but not very exposed) walking off misery ridge, than having to walk back up to the base, is the worst option of the bunch
  11. i wanna climb shiprock too, ole'boy, and surely (yes, i'm calling you surely) a man of your pedigree has to be interested the cow dog is classic silly smiff - a sport alpinesque experience! easy, for sure, but great setting and a fine topout puffdown platform
  12. you done voyage of the cow dog yet wayne?
  13. I would say exposure in one select or classics guidebook or another have a lot of influence in this. it's in the "climbing the cascade volcanoes" book, it's just: a) contrived (there's an easy way to the summit a very short distance away) b) a long hike to get there c) dangerous d) not in a particuliarly cool setting (unlike the dramatic exposure of say yocums, you're just tucked into the side of the n face prow w/ a view of steep snow below and dirt above)
  14. if star trek taught me anything, it's that there will always be another enterprise now, to save money, why don't we just fucking rename the uss ronald reagan?
  15. what happens if you take a cookie and put pressure on it, especially if it's on top of an irregular surface? it fractures.

  19. clearly, the apocalypse must be upon us?
  20. That is so retarded. When I was growing up we would disappear for hours... and that was a welcome relief to the parents. Our society is so fearful of everything these days. When I was 10 or 11 my parents let me ride my dirt bike through the forest by myself all day. There were no cell phones, either. I'd crash that shit into trees and try to hide the bent levers from my father. Sometimes they weren't even home -- that was the best. the same - and it columbia, south carolina no less, so i spent plenty of time as 7 year old hanging out w/ white supremacists in the woods
  21. would love to see how well her nails survive a sesh
  22. it's a fine time of year for vantage - lots of folks there on sunny days near the weekend - don't know where you'd get a guide round there - the sunshine wall area (marked w/ signs) offers plenty of solo-tr options, though w/o beta you'll likely end up losing a bit of time scoping it all out
  23. [video:youtube]v=lBE2D6aY8Fg didn't that old boy have a machine that killed facists?
  24. sounds like business as usual for the hairless monkey race?
