  1. Hence the Mountaineers.
  2. Hey Colin, Any tricks you do regarding coiling, feeding out a bag/pack, etc.? My limited experience of rapping on 6mm perlon was a complete tanglefest.
  3. More like I'm just absent-minded. I found out yesterday I had incorrectly scheduled class for Veteran's Day.
  4. Some enhanced pics:
  5. Climb: Blueberry Hill-Jacob's Ladder Date of Climb: 9/24/2005 Trip Report: http://uw.cascadeclimbers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=12081
  6. I dunno, I just don't have time for that. Heck, last weekend was gorgeous and I couldn't find the time to do SF Prusik. Had to settle for a day in Darrington. Maybe I need to find someone who's driving out there Sat evening and driving back Sun morn. But then I'll by disappointed at all the time in the car that could have been spent working.
  7. Why should I come to ropeup? I'm too busy to come just for the free beer. If the weather were better, I'd be in larch country. If I had to choose Fri night or Sat night, which one would be better?
  8. Darn, I was hoping for free lays at the IMA.
  9. Bumped into Eric -- he's now in the CivE grad program. My first day of lecture went well. The administrivia went faster than expected, so I had some extra time to fill. But it worked out pretty well. Now I just need to catch up on research.
  10. If I remember correctly, the route eats up medium and large nuts. I don't think there's any need for 3"+ stuff. Why are you so quick to condemn what you know nothing about?
  11. I thought Kelly's letter was a good response too. I'm guessing the newspaper amped it by adding the title "mountaineers mar wilderness." I'm really surprised Kelly's getting so much flak. She wants to make sure that folks respect the wilderness. She may have had to say something to silence an econazi (such as the dude on Gripped) who had pressured her to do something.
  12. some buddies of mine were up there a week and a half ago. it's hard ice, but not too circuitous up high.
  13. is slovenian close enough?
  14. But they did that without your authorization. That's fraudulent, eh? Fuck 'em. Can you get the whole charge dropped? That was totally rediculous that they charged 18% tip automatically for service that equated to waiting over half an hour to pour beers. Perhaps if you can't get things fixed, someone should return their favor with a drink&dash?
  15. So Klenke, what was the verdict regarding your credit card and the bad service a few weeks ago? i'm a no-show tomorrow night -- got other plans

killed 3 yellowjackets. watched the birthday boy stab a live one with a fork!
  18. Bug -- we'll see if I'm even more shameless when we implement our next zany idea for a trip.
  19. It looks cooler tilted like that. Seriously, if I don't crank it tight, it slops around. The exact fit is dependent on how much hair on my head. If I crank it too tight, I might loosen it too much later when I try to eat or drink and the strap impedes my jaw.
  20. My bad, I forgot Charbucks serves bloody stool.
  21. Starbucks or cheap drip?
  22. Josh, it's very simple. Deny them their money, and they won't have expendable income for foul corrupting rap music and drugs. They'll have no choice but to turn to God for guidance. And we'll be fine, because we'll have our own private armies to defend ourselves from the masses who don't become good Christians.
  23. Honore seems like a no-nonsense get-shit-done guy. I thought it was great how he ordered the police and the Natl Guard to point their guns down. I'm annoyed with the media's perversion of "don't get in our way" to "we're not allowed to report any of the body recovering."
