  1. Always a good thing to have in the back of the car on one of those aimless drives into the sunset, but man, what a lame showing for BC; I don't think Toula added a thing since 1st ed.! Who the fuck cares about Cap Canyon, it's given the same amount of print as the entire Purcells!North Ridge of Ratney a classic climb Apparently NE buttress on Slesse is still 5.9 A2 (I think he just got this from Steck!) Baahhhhh, waste of $$!

But you had already scoped that on the topo right Damned straight! I actually thought the Kingdom Lake road was 4wd and way old. That and the little marshy symbols in Crazy creek kept me away. Eeeeoooww gross!
  3. So I prodealed a pair of BDVs last spring, but they still came out kinda expensive. But over near constant use this summer, they looked like and old balled up wool sweater, burrs and rips everywhere. So with the climbing season drawing to a close I sent 'em off to weirdnessland (SLC) just for the hell of it, figuring I had a pretty slim chance of a warranty. Three weeks later a brand new pair shows up on my doorstep from KAMLOOPS! Sweet, I'm still gonna wreck this pair, and they were still expensive, even with prodeal, but I'm happy. Suggestion: Not all schoeller is the same: dynamic will get destroyed very quickly. Dryskin (MEC Feratta) is way more bomber (my jacket is like four years old now and looks brand new).
  4. Put it this way to appreciate the lure that is the freshie: any schmuck can learn to iceclimb in a season. Skiing takes years and then you still suck
  5. I was just waiting for K to show up on the freshie bashing topic! If there's anyone who can't stand to see freshies demeaned . . .
  6. godamnit man. i mean, could you do a trade route for once? you gotta leave SOMETHING for subsequent generations. pillaging, that's what this is!
  7. 45 degree slopes: right now = 4" pow over ice in a few weeks = lots of avi soft stuff = wait for conditions, then ski
  8. Looks like a nice couloir, possibly unclimbed (?) Close to road. Probably new snow on it now, so I'll have to wait til spring. If you know where it is, go get it! If it's >45 degrees=climb, <45 degrees=ski
  9. Mind you, there's always the #5 orange

  16. I'm going on four seasons now with $99 crapjob ski sale skis. Sure they're thinnner than sticks and they suck in pow, but at that price you can do amazing things with them: I seem to remember that AlpineK refused to do the "crux" of the McBride traverse in fear of wrecking his Tua beauties. C'mon man, it's not a complete trip if you don't ski accross the Diamond Head gravel parking lot to your car
