The Canadian health care isn't the best, but hey, a lot of us have HMO care these days, and it's harly what you would call good either.... To wit: I broke both of my ankles in Canada. At the Penticton Regional Hospital I was diagnosed with a broken tib and a broken fib, both on the right side. Left one was sprained. At Group Health it was two sprained ankles until a surgeon looked at the pictures and then it was a broken talus and calc on the right and some metatarsal on the left. I'm still not convinced there wasn't more. The point being that my personal experience would put the Canadian health care about on par with an HMO.

I'd trade our way of life for their way of life any day of the week. You'd think that shitbag NAFTA treaty would have at least made it easier to emigrate.

What Lunkman said. Remember that just because you can say whatever you want on the Internet doesn't mean you have to.

if you want to be a strong climber 25% is way too fat. it is dead weight because it doesnt help you pull. maybe if you are into peaks and you need it to keep warm. but if you are sereious about training you should not be above 20 and better 15%. Um, it's called making a joke, MissChestbeaterScreenName.

I heard it was Samuel L. Jackson. Rumors. The only thing that is going to satisfy this lefty liberal is getting rid of yet another Bush. Let's hope this whole Iraq debacle lights enough of a fire under the collective asses of the Democratic Party to put someone halfway decent out there to run against the Shrub. Run a solid campaign, speak to the younger voters (puhleeze don't forget about them) and of course, if the numbers are close, call in James Carville. Let's hope there is no Nader thing to draw our votes elsewhere either. And no RB, I didn't see any personal attack in what you said. I was just participating in the conversation.

	Time to chat! http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/threadz/jchat.php

Yes, this is the stupidest thread of all time. I know somewhere in there I mentioned my BF's Highlander gets better gas mileage than my s00bie, but did I mention it burns cleaner too? Having said that, what on earth is up with those gigantic SUVs? Even some of the normal sized ones are bunk, my mom's Exploder has roughly the same ground clearance as a Miata.

Well the Klenklican Party platform has some pretty suspiciously Repubelicany looking plankz in it!! (overheard on the chairlift..."what do you think of the idea of having English as our national language?")
 -
what she said! Hell, klenk's a Republican! What can you do! So I didn't go today because nobody wanted to go and I didn't want to go by myself, anyone up for going Friday?

Of course he did, as soon as we are done bombing the shit out of Iraq, we need to hand out big contracts for US companies to do the rebuild. Corporate Welfare is as American as baseball and apple pie!

So in your first statement you say that you are a free-thinking find of guy. Then you turn around and suggest that we should all stand in lockstep unity regarding the war even if we do not agree with it. "Quiet and supportive" well, that little nug speaks for itself. You're not going to tell me that it's a bellwether of democracy now areya?

I hate to be a spoiler, but we should do this with a few days' notice. Plus I don't have 2 pennies to rub together, I'd have to go "Beckey-style" to anything happening tonight!

People don't want to be confronted with things like this, especially in their leisure time, like here at cc.com. It's human nature! I hope that at least by calling attention to the subject, a little good has been done.

Well I say pee on them from great heights, O Wise Doctor!

"You are not a real female" is part of the cc.com hazing ritual. I got some of that even after appearing at a Pub Club!

Rob, With all due respect, Chris and I have very different personalities. I am not asking for ways to have a different personality. I am not asking for ways to conduct myself differently. If you knew me in person, and especially if we had ever talked politics, you would know that how I am on the board is a pretty logical extension of who I am in person. And trust me, I am not a whiner.

Well, having said what I did last night, I must now admit to having cowritten a song in the 80s called "Drinking for Jesus," which was a big hit on the Belltwon circuit for a month or two. I wish I had a copy of the lyrics as I have forgotten most of it, but one of the lines is "...hard to hold that shot glass/with a nail in your palm..." Really I am just as guilty as the rest of you all!

Listen, lads, you can call me a drama queen or don't call me a drama queen, say I am part of the problem or not part of the problem, but what I am looking for is the ability to get into these discussions without having my sexual morals challenged or dragged through the mud. Maybe if this shit stops sometime there will be a few more women on this board too. I know my posts come off as obnoxious sometimes. That is not an accident. When people carry on about this and that and there seems to be no thought behind their idea, I want to know how they got there. Having said all of this, it has been suggested that I change my screen name to something gender-neutral. As much as I hate the idea of doing that, it may come down to it, because I am getting pretty tired of defending myself. Thanks to a few of you fellers who have stood up for me through this current round of spew.

I went to Trader Joe the other day and they didn't have any of the Charles Shaw wine we have all grown to love as the best 3$ bottle of red you can get. Fortunately they have this Argentine stuff called "Boca", a Cab, a Merlot, and a Malbec. At the princely sum of $2.99, I would skip the Merlot and the Cab, they are mere pretenders to the throne. Hail to the Malbec! Even better than the Charles Shaw Cab!
