  1. You might be surprised at how many people from both sides of the aisle would agree that the system works a LOT better if one party doesn't control the whole meathouse.
  2. I have a Mac and a PC. They both crash pretty regular-like.
  3. I'm happy to see you lads had a productive morning while I was taking advatage of the fact that I am laid off all week by sleeping in until eleven!
  4. I'm sure I have carloadsizeweights of stuff worthy of that. Welcome to being alive.
  5. I toured with those guys on the 1997 US national tour.
  6. No I assiduously avoid "getting" to see shows unless I am running a spotlight. We don't see a lot of guests backstage at that venue due to space constraints. Now I know where they put them!
  7. That's funny, I think I worked that Yes show. We'd have likely seen one another backstage.

By the looks of "Who's online" we have the brainpower to solve the world's problems!
  9. No, people say nice things about GregW all the time. It may come as a surprise, but I have a close friend who is almost as conservative as Greg. People who have different beliefs can have perfectly civil conversations, especially about things other than politics. No worries, Jay, I'm not exactly givin' out the digits these days myself. Don't believe the hype, it simply is not true.

Well, sobo, I'm pretty sure that this is what we are looking at. I think we are going to be there for a while. We Americans are pretty good at winning wars, not so good at the endgame.

Guess what, spray babies! This is not something that is so complicated that the cc.com Brain Trust can't tackle it. Seriously folks, how are we going to keep what looks like about 4 countrires sewn together as one? There has been a lot of talk about "Democracy" and "free." Now I for one have no reason to believe that a Western-style government can hold together in Iraq. Whaddaya think? Oh, and sobo, FWIW, the Bush Administration, the one we are currently under, has an official policy of "no nation building". Remember that bit? So, apparently the Administration is naively assuming that once we finish rebuilding the nation of Iraq, then we will go back to that policy.

Save for the phrase "conservative Zionist junta", which I find a mite on the inflammatory side, that's a nice piece of op ed and reflects my own fears about the future of Iraq. If it is not the Iraqi people themselves who put together this new government, it's not going to work. This is just one of the many problems we have created in the world by invading Iraq.
  13. This is what I would like to see: no time limits on edits, but you have to have the "edited by" thing if you edit after a certain time, like 4 hours or something. Possible? If you need one of your posts edited, just go to it and hit the "alert mod" icon at the bottom of the post and I am sure one of the mods will contact you and see what you need done. They can edit them without time limits.
  14. Um, I wouldn't be getting all gloaty. There is absolutlely no guarantee that the uS will be able to install any sort of gummint that is stable in Iraq. There is no guarantee that Iraq will be one country at the end of all of this either. The US has demonstrated its military superiority over a much smaller nation. Now the hard part begins.
  15. Hey, can I help it if I am immaculately well-preserved!
  16. Beddy intellestink stuff, but in my case it is not a problem with headache, it is that I will throw up sometimes when I drink beer. Before everyone says that that is an indication of overconsumption, let me say that two beers has done it before. That seems like an allergic reaction to me.
  17. Ok, so the invasion is now close to or past the tipping point. Now what are we going to do?
  18. I don't know, but I can drink a lot of anything except beer. The only time I drink it is at Pub Club when we go where I can't get a cider. The only ingreds in most micros are hops, water, malt and yeast. In a Bud or PBR just add a few preservatives to that list. I am guessing on the hop allergy thing in my case, by elimination.
  19. Dru, I am about 99% sure I was at that show too. I was driving up to Vancouver all the time then, because in Canada I was not underage in 1986!
  20. Ewik my aplogies, one of those was mine. I am allergic to hops, and they had a lot of really hoppy beer there. Hefe is not too hoppy. The fact that I was drinking something that I am partially allergic to may explain my erratic behaviour here this morning.
  21. That road closure thing is not going to happen until July 15th, and that is assuming that the $$ to do the bridge doesn't get spent fighting fires like what happened last year.
