  1. So for matters of self-preservation, the Arab League should bomb Israeli weapons installations, I suppose. Gasoline has never been shown to be effective at putting out fires, no? And right now, this whole world is on fire.
  2. oh come on; Kerry's in there back-pocket. Especially that little dictator from Venezuela, What's-his-name chavez
  3. Martlet; I know it can kinda suck when someone asks you a question that requires perhaps some investigation. Spray is spray after all; most of us don't come here to do homework. But you did post a link that I had a few questions about, and posted earlier, but didn't get a response. The following is the question I had: "But, getting back to your Flipper episode, how did Kerry flip-fop on the following: Cuba sanctions, first gulf war, No Child Left Behind act, marijuana, affirmative action, and ethanol." I'm trying my hardest to come to a decision in this presidential race, so I could use all the info I can get; you seem like a good source of information, so I would appreciate your input. Thanks, Tony.
  4. Thanks for the link! I especially like "American Betrayal" for the following line: "John Kerry supports the terrorist thugs." But, getting back to your Flipper episode, how did Kerry flip-fop on the following: Cuba sanctions, first gulf war, No Child Left Behind act, marijuana, affirmative action, and ethanol. I was also saddened to learn about how Kerry didn't support the liberation of Grenada.
  5. What do you think? And whilst you think about that, tell me if you would.
  6. Come on, point some fingers!
  7. I'm not sure if this needs to be responded to, since anyone on the fence would probably not be swayed, but just in case: "In Geneva, the International Committee of the Red Cross said U.S.-led coalition intelligence officers had told it that up to 90 percent of Iraqi detainees were arrested by mistake. A 24-page Red Cross report also cited abuses, some "tantamount to torture," including brutality, forcing people to wear hoods, humiliation and threats of imminent execution." (Pauline Jelinek, AP writer) Up to 90% innocent, undergoing systematic torture, most likely with methods approved by the same Donald Rumsfeld who stated that the Geneva Conventions only selectively apply to those who the US are holding. This man is a menace, along with the entire neo-con administration which he is a part of.
  8. So this Goldbar V13: where is the problem? up in the woods, left side right side etc....?
  9. Once your crimp strength has improved from the above mentioned training tips, build a campus board with 1/4 to 3/8 inch edges. 1 foot spacing. Procede to campusing on edges, perhaps once or twice a week, and watch with amazement as your raw power sky-rockets. Gotta stick with it for a few weeks, and you gotta back off if you get pain in your pulleys or joints (bad pain as opposed to good workout pain). Good luck.
  10. "Voice of reason"? Good lord, man. Powell is no more a voice of reason than Bush himself. Anyone who would allow himself to descend to the levels of lies, deceit, and misrepresentation as has Powell is no more worthy than the man he does it for. His complicity simply shows him to be what he has been all along: a yes-man for the system, with a thin veneer of respectability (which has obviously worked perfectly, since so many have fallen for it, and continue to do so). Powell is a liar, same as the administration he works for.
  11. Actually, while not completely supporting the notion that schizophrenia is caused by bad parenting, it is interesting what a psychiatrist related to me not long ago: in a recent study, of those experiencing schizophrenic symptoms to a degree which required hospitalization, 50% responded positively to family counseling alone, allowing them to return to "normal" functional levels. I just really felt that this point needed to be clarified before any confusion arose. I really felt this to be important.
  12. During the '70's, Iraq had the highest standard of living in any middle-eastern country, sans Israel. Throughout Saddam Hussein's reign, brutal certainly in many respects, education was free, including at the university level. There was a small jewish community in Iraq, and I was quite surprised to hear in an interview that they had feared the removal of Hussein, since he had protected them against the antipathy of the Muslim population. What a strange man, Hussein: Unimaginably brutal dictator; socialist espousing communist ideals (with haha Stalin being one of his heros); a father loved by his daughters; two sociopathic sons.... Sometimes I think Bush would be worse if he didn't have the constraints of our constitution hemming him in.
  13. I'd be curious to see if one could. Perhaps pedophilia is more an expression of the typical Republican psyche; archaic, suppressed, fearful, not prone to self-analysis, selfish, greedy, self-justifying, etc etc....
  14. Bush Administration Ramps Up Old-Growth Forest Logging More ancient forest logging expected in the Pacific Northwest On this Earth Day, six-foot diameter trees, some more than five centuries old, are crashing to the ground in western Oregon. Right now, Rosboro Timber is logging ancient groves in the Blue River Face Timber Sale on the Willamette National Forest, and chainsaws are taking down giant trees in the Cowcatcher, Mr. Wilson, Bear Penn, Soukow, East Five Mile, and Papa Cow Timber Sales across public lands in Oregon! Many of these forests are home to rare plants and animals that occur only in the Pacific Northwest. Until last month, the government was required to protect sites in mature and old-growth forests that serve as habitat for rare plants and animals, but that rule was eliminated by the Bush administration in order to increase logging of ancient forests. Now those rare plants and animals, including the largest known population of the specklebelly lichen in forests targeted by the Blue River Face Timber Sale, are being recklessly destroyed by industrial logging. Please take action! The cathedral forests of the Pacific Northwest are a national treasure for all Americans. It's time for our Congressional delegation to step up to stop the Bush administration's backwards policies. Join the people of this nation, expert scientists, and natural resource economists in calling for an end to logging in mature and old-growth forests. YOU can make a difference, let your voice be heard! Senator Murray needs to hear from you. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) 202-224-2621 Or call the Capitol Switchboard toll-free: 800-839-5276 Also call the Bush administration officials in charge and let them know the world is witnessing ancient forest destruction on Earth Day. Sad

Let me posit a correction, if I may: Sexual Chocolate said "Come on, all. The guy had already made a bunch of money when he decided to leave the nfl. His family was taken care of, as were his material needs. Personally, I'd be more moved if he would have joined a monastery, instead of taking up arms and going on a killing spree in someone else's country. I believe it was George Bush's saviour Jesus that(sic) said "He who lives by the sword, dies by the sword.". Maybe you could explain your rather loose translation. I know I open myself up to all sorts of clever retorts, but my humility forces such a "concession".

  17. this is kinda funny: Rainy Day Women is suppose to be 12a sport, but when I lead it with gear, it felt like 11b. What gives? Maybe trad is really easier than sport. Go figure.
  18. A worthy goal most supported by Ayn Rand, if true; perhaps you'd like to give one quote from one of the "most...french leaders...", just to validate your assertion. So American hegemony would do more to serve France's or humanity's self-interest? "the effort in Iraq" has ALREADY failed; it failed before it even began, as evidenced so clearly by everything it has accomplished (clearly spelled out ad nauseum everywhere one looks). Now the question to me seems to be what can be done, once we acknowledge, fully acknowledge, its "failure status" (I think one of the first steps would be impeachment and conviction of the failure's point-man, as acknowledgement). ah gee, some of the very reasons many opposed the war in the first place! (perhaps France also?) a little shaky in gleaning your intent here; again i'm supposing that you believe any who opposed the war should buck up and jump right in at this time, because to not do so would be self-defeating (and after all, it is self-interest that motivates us all haha)? as you rest smugly at your desk, typing out your apocryphal ideologies couched as analytical assessments, you might just do well to ask yourself the following question: "Is it really time for me to get inked?"

    insurgents

I can't quite suppress a smile about how we all are such experts on "terrorists", me included!
  20. History doesn't support this view. Last summer, Hamas, Al Aqsa etal, agreed to a cease-fire; Israel also agreed, yet broke it in three weeks with an assasination. This is but one example.
  21. Whore of Babylon, currently the hardest route in the cascades. Spine Jelly vies, yet undone.
  22. That's ridiculous. There has never been spotted in Mordor a Martian. Plus, the technical capabilities weren't available for the creation of mortars, either; just ask iain. And furthermore, why would a martian be martyring him/herself?
  23. Hey same goes for Israel. Look at the collateral damage from their assasinations. You think they don't kill "non-combatants, women and children"? And the US war in Iraq: 10,000 innocent "non-combatants, women and children"? 10,000! over three world trade centers, to make an awful comparison. It's awful, I know, but Hamas etal don't really have the technical ability to differentiate between targets; for them it's ISRAEL. Ugh this sucks. This whole argument seems so....ugh. I've gotta go climb now. Index! peace out y'all!
  24. The target of Hamas is Israel. They don't have the capacity to be selective in their targeting. You go hunting for deer, and what's your target? Anything, if you can't be selective. Israel has the capacity for "head-hunting", if you will (to no avail). The shit really hit the fan when Sharon took office. This isn't an accident. Things will only get worse when this type of revenge/anger cycle continues. Both sides have a responsibility, but shit, remember last summer, when a cease-fire was agreed to by Hamas, Al Aqsa, Israel, etc.? Israel was the first to break it with more assasinations! Israel has superior power in this scene, and with it, a special responsibility to show some sincerity in a movement towards peace. That means anachronisms like Sharon have got to go. I hope sincerely that his type are ousted in the next election, cuz with him there, there ain't no chance for peace. Same with Bush.
  25. well regardless, it IS a wonderful climb, and I hope you enjoyed it!
