Buy mine....Easily sell it to some Seattle Yuppie kayaker wannabe for 3 times the price...Offer Necro the $360 as a down payment (after you have knocked his price down to $600) and have some really good white water gear for the price of two screws and a dry rope...then you won't actually have to climb ice this winter because you don't have quite enough protection and you can be afraid that your old rope will absorb to much water (and it's a 10.2 and is really too heavy anyway) You can be much happier eating potatoe chips and watching the games this winter and occasionally walking out to your garage to look at your new kayak...make it to a pool once to practice rolling...decide you are too lame to ever get on a river...sell the kayak next fall for the money you still owe Necro...decide you don't really want to climb much anymore...sell your gear to finally make your wife happy and put a down payment on a new SUV...work overtime to make the payments...she'll be alone more and wind up hanging out with a dirtbag climber (because that's what she really loved about you in the first place)...they'll run off together and you will get drunk and crash the new SUV and end up in the slam. So please buy my Kayak! -
Thanks all...Good Info. I am heading to Vera Cruz, Oaxaca, the beaches west of Puerto Angel and ( of course ) Orizaba. One question. Why not drive at Night. I have heard this so many times; but never why. Is it the potholes and stray livestock or is it more serious? I have driven plenty in Baja (even at night) and didn't have any real problems but I have never driven in the interior. [ 10-31-2002, 12:40 PM: Message edited by: Terminal Gravity ]

Top...Okay; Make offer -
Thanks Rob. I hope to make a PDX pub Club some time soon. Usually Thursdays are the only night I'm there. Maybe the 14th?

I'm heading to southern and eastern Mexico for a month mid December with the family. I've decided that the flexibility and cost savings of flying 3 people (& gear) is worth the gas, wear & tear and fear I have of driving (and parking) in the southern lands. My rig is new enough and tough enough to be reliable but old enough that I don't care if it gets a bit abused. Does anybody have any words of wisdom, quixotic experiences or spray to share?

erik! help me! I'm caught in a continous loop...arrgh. Clearly, Necro needs the money worse than me and his is a much nicer boat. (I just have to pay for the set of 70m twins I just ordered. ) BUY HIS FIRST. (unless, of course, $120 sound like a better deal than $800. ) -
Orange, 11' Hydra Plastic beginner boat. Easy to roll. Adjustable foot pegs. Optimal for 150-190 pound 5'6"to 5'11" paddler. Neoprene spray skirt. Barely used fiberglass paddle w/ 60 degree offset ( I paid $90 for the paddle). It is a good "point the nose down river" boat. It is not suitable for "Play" but can handle surf. The boat is in "ready to use" shape. I can deliver to PDX.

Removable open cell insulation. Used only 2 days (didn't fit my boots well) Black, size extra/large (fits size 10-13 depending on the boot). $45 OBO ...I think they retail for about $150

$60 firm (about 1/2 the price of a good new duffle the same size) Approxamately 7000 "^3 with one double & one single Gregory expansion pockets. Pack is well used but is sound. It has no deep scratches, rips or tears. The waterproof coating is compromised however and I removed the sleeping bag panel and a few other pieces of superflous crap to save some weight. All straps and buckles are good.

I think I will have to out bid Fence Sitter on this one. 1/3 your price is my final offer

Thanks, Rodchester. That was interesting to me. (Although not as interesting as wether or not the rope was static)

Sorry, about the above post. I assumed you were asking a climbing related question. Try the Trojan ribbed...maybe in a smaller size.

I prefer La Sportiva & Five Ten to Goodyear & Bridgestone.

Thank you for all the compliments on the beer. I was happy to give it. I just wish I could have drank some of it and climbed with all of you wankers, gumbies & sprayers. (Especially AlpineK ) I did have one of the most fun days I have ever had in the Wallowas, though. Cheers,

Or maybe TG=Barry Blanchard? I am not even in Barry's league, but thanks just the same. I was down there two years ago with an in-experienced and undermotivated partner (story of my life). I soloed around a bit, but some of those lines are still beckoning. I think that side of the big hill is way under appreciated. If the ice is in it's spectacular. Funny you mentioned it though; if things work out I will be climbing with one of Barry's friends. Never been to Veracruz, maybe this time. Thanks for the tip.

Reality TV? Now this is a GREAT spray topic.
