Actually, I liked Dwayner's post. The list of whiners I posted was intended to illustrate the cream of the Seattle left wing elite. Dwayner being the refreshing exception.
-
Sexual Chocolate, Dr Flash, J_B (not to be confused with "JayB"),Matt Heller, and E-Rock..... These folks represent the world according to Seattle! Dwayner=a voice of reason in a sea of blame US first whiners.

Trask, Reminds me of the story about a guy who had a very nasty breakup with his girlfriend. Not only did she dump him, but to add salt to his wounded ego she mailed him a polaroid of herself having sex, doggie style, with her new boyfriend. The guy was devestated. But after some thought, he put the photo into a fresh envelope, put a stamp on it......and mailed it to her parents.

www.snipersparadise.com/articles/2430kill.htm This guy killed an enemy fighter (terrorist) from 2430 meters! But apparently Canada doesn't want to admit that their soldiers actually kill. This brave soldier is now facing charges (in Canada) that he "posed" one of his corpses for a photo, and defecated on another. A bit over-the-top for sure, but you got to give these guys credit! They've apparently saved American soldiers on several occasions. Go Canada! My opinions' changin' about you guys up there.

How about the Stagmann Ridge approach to the White Salmon Glacier or SW Chute?

"Saturday Night Live" did a couple of GREAT parodies last weekend. One was an anti-war protest where the participants couldn't decide precisely what they stood for and began arguing amongst themselves...anti war, gay rights, pro choice, anti globalization, etc. The second was set at the UN general assembly. A Colin Powell look-alike had just finished his presentation on Iraqi arms violations when the Germans and French responded by passing motions and arguing over which "outrageously expensive restaurant" they should have luch at on the UN dime. Then, argued over how many UN stretch limos' they would need to get there. Hilarious!

There will be a PRO Military rally in Tacoma on Saturday from 10am to 1pm on the I-5 overpass just outside the Fort Lewis gate. I think I'll stop by with my kids and show my support for our military. Care to stop by, Sexual Chocolate? Note: It is not a pro-war rally. Just a way to show our armed forces that civilians who support their hard work and patriotism far outnumber those that don't.

Iain, you finally made me laugh!

Was supposed to be ME. Until my wife reminded me about a "family event" on Sunday. I think this weekend might have been "the February window", and will soon be closing.

Yeah, Beats freezin' my ass off in the Muir hut at 1:00am!

I could vote for Ralph Nader. IF HE WASN'T A FUCKING SOCIALIST! ... and trimmed his nose-hair now and then. Geeezz, what a goof ball. He makes Ross Perot and Jesse Ventura look like a couple of Einstiens.

I think if the NP Service is going to open a cider bar atop Rainier, they should allow a competitive bidding process. Furthermore, the cider bar should be operated in an environmentally friendly manner and only shade-grown coffee should be sold, with a 10-cent tax on each cup going to shelter homeless pets. The extention cord that runs from the Paradise parking lot to the cider machine at the summit should be esthetically pleasing and fit into a Northwest motif. A public hearing should be scheduled and 4 options, including the preferred (already decided upon) option should state that the cord is NOT to be orange. The cider girl should be cute, but not drop-dead gorgeous...and appropriately dressed in clothing that expresses the local flavor of the region. And she should wear nipple warmers, as it can get very cold up there.

BG, Don't get me wrong. Those corporate bastards who fucked their employees and shareholders, should FRY. I just think you seem to be forgetting the eight years under the Democrats that these corporate pukes had to cultivate their schemes, while Clinton and his cronies looked the other way...as long as the $$$ kept flowing.
-
BG, Just keep votin' green!
-
BG, It is funny you should mention the "Global Crossing" debacle. But you forgot to mention that Terry Mcaluf, chairman of the DEMOCRATic National Comittee and close friend of Bill & Hillary, realized an $18,000,000 (that's 18 million) windfall when he cashed in his stock just before Global Crossing filed for bankruptcy. Where do you get off blaming GW for this shit?
-
Actually, it was Bill Clinton who had Kenneth Leigh of Enron fame spendin' the night in the Lincoln Bedroom. ...in exchange for campaign $$$$ of course. And now is the part where you reply, "...blah, blah, I never like Clinton either....blah, blah...." ...But I never heard much bitchin from you GW haters 'bout Clinton and his cozy ties to big corporations back then. Makes me think you are all TLWH! (Typical Left Wing Hypocrites)

Fleb, You sound like a great candidate for a job in state government!
-
What on earth are you talking 'bout, "No one seemed to mind"? Are you off your rocker? He was almost impeached! Actually SC, he WAS impeached. Not "almost".
-
My "no one seemed to mind" comment was re his posing on the church steps. Get a grip SC.

Josh, Jimmy Carter probably was the "most moral" president we've had in modern times. I disagree with his more recent politics of appeasment though. He made a real mess out of the 1994 North Korea negotiations IMHO. I understand your distress re: the christian right. I would not live in a country ruled by the Christian version of the Taliban. I just don't see where they have the power you perceive them to have under the current administration. You MUST consider this though: Just as YOU feel that certain interest groups have too much power/influence within the current government, I feel/felt just as strongly about the dangers of special interests on "your" side of the fence under Clinton. I still feel my freedoms were, and are, more at risk from a liberal/socialist agenda than from the right-wing. The pendulum WILL swing back and forth. That's the beauty of the system we have.
-
Josh, I think GW has gone out of his way to separate his christian beliefs from his duties. Sure, he'll invoke the name of God during a somber and tragic event like the Columbia disaster, but "God" is a name used by many religons. At least he's not posin' in front of church with bible in hand like Bill Clinton did every Sunday. I can still remember the media, getting lots of good footage of Bill at the top of the church steps, shaking hands and holding that bible. And all the while gettin' blowjobs and selling our missile staging technology to the Chinese. No one seemed to mind back then. Media bias? Liberal hypocricy?

...And would Jesus support abortion? ...capital punishment? ...SUV's? ...women's equality? ...the ethical treatment of animals? How about fish? ...the internet? ...movie theatres? SC, you have made my point for me. GW realizes his first duty as president is to protect Americans. His moral approach to this is secular in nature, in spite of his strong Christian beliefs. Should GW have said, "lets just turn the other cheek" on Sept 12th? (Would Jesus have done so?-I suspect the answer is yes.) Had the president done so, he would have betrayed his sworn duty to defend America from enemies foreign and domestic. I find it ironic that an atheist (I suspect, based on your previous posts over the year) like you, is now trying to inject religon into the debate, when you have regularly lambasted Christian/conservative ideals in the past. Feel free to use this tactic as you see fit, but know that you are a hypocrite for doing so.
-
I doubt that you (or I) are qualified to judge "Christian ethics". Even if you were, I doubt you could find a uniform standard from which to base. Additionally, I don't think any reasonable person believes that GW is pursuing his Iraq/world agenda based on his religous beliefs. ....but then, you haven't always demonstrated yourself reasonable.

SC, I guess your buddy, Clinton was the only modern president worthy of impeachment. So sorry. ...almost forgot... HAPPY BIRHTDAY (yesterday) RONALD REAGAN! The greatest president America has had since Teddy Roosevelt!
