Spew, Do you recall which president was in office when the poor were first kicked out of our public lands? I did vote on this issue....in 2000....and he's gone now. (unfortunately, the fees are not!)
-
Does this unity mean including motorized user groups too?
-
3 minutes to reply! Hook, line, sinker. Man, you've got issues.
-
His name is George W Bush. He was duly elected under the constitutional/electoral process. He is your president. Get over it.

...We are the great unwashed, not able to comprehend the higher moral and intellectual plane upon which j_b & co. reside.

I believe it was your $40k car driver who saved $1000 analogy. What right did our state have to that money in the first place? Reminds me of the county bitch that knocked on my door last year demanding $$$ because her records showed (incorrectly) that I had an "unlicenced" dog. And aren't we talking about a federal tax cut? Who is "schrub"?
-
I am 100% Republican. I believe the first tax cut was needed to stimulate a faltering economy. I kept my $600 rebate and spent it. I am certain that in spending it, albeit frivolously, I helped provide some store clerk, night stocker, longshoreman, a little more job security. I dont care if some rich guy got a bigger cut than I did. He probably spent his too thereby benefiting us all, if indirectly. Regardless, I'm sure he did not stuff the cash into his mattress or bury it in coffee cans in his back yard. (What's up with all the "class envy" JoshK?) However, as one who supported the war in Iraq, I now feel compelled to continue paying my federal taxes at the level I currently do. I do not believe a federal tax cut will provide any more stimulation to our national economy than say....a drop in gasoline prices. If I receive a "rebate" check again, then yes, I will send it back to the fed's to dispense as my elected representatives see fit. ( Unfortunately mine are Democrats, so mine will probably attempt to attach every left-wing rider known to man ...oh well) Now state, local taxes are another matter.....

j_b, once again, your stuffy smarter-than-thou arrogance is showing.

You been reading that liberal, Christopher Hitchens' book? What a crock. Surely the left doesn't lay total claim to Orwell. His anti-autocratic government politics lend the above quote the relevance it needs vis-a-vis the dictatorship that Saddam and his Ba'athist party represent(ed). I'm not saying Orwell (Blair) was a right-winger by anyone's definition, but if the quote fits... Actually, I can't recall the precise origin of the quote ("Notes on Nationalism"?) but regardless, it is commonly used and fits the current climate well as I see it. I do, in fact sleep better at night knowing that our armed forces are ready to defend my family and country. If you don't like that, too bad. Don't make me start quoting Stonewall Jackson!

Still a little premature on the crow-eating-thing, OW. Hell, the dust hasn't even settled yet. That cheif (German educated) Iraqi scientist they just took into custody is gonna sing like a ....crow. (Once we pay him $$$, oops, I meant euros! and give him immunity from war-crimes prosecution) Hey, did you kill that poor bird? You don't want those ALF kooks knocking your door in!
-
No, I mean because they promoted themselves as "peacemakers" even while they sold and delivered weapons, and the means to produce them, to Saddam. The French. Arrogant. Hypocrites. ...and now Jackals waiting on the perimeter to see if they can get "cut back in" to the deal.

"We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm." --George Orwell

Actually Gaston, it is the French who are the disgrace.

Dr Unamazing, I propose that a score of 3/12 renders your political views and opinions (past, present, and future) marginal.

AK, Did he give up any valuable information first? Dalius, That is some sick shit. You should be banned.

Mattp The "you lefties" comment was directed at a few individuals that post here on CC.com who have expressed solidarity (to one degree or another) with ELF, either directly, or with the expressed desire to "do some monkeywrenchin'" when a public/environmental issue was not falling their way. I never tried to connect these folks with the anti-war crowd. You are making that assumption. DFA, You are right to a certain degree. Part of me hopes this Rosebrough guy lives up to his threats of (more) violence. That may be what it takes to demonstrate the bankruptcy of his ideals, and might be what is required to bring about a well-earned public (and police) backlash. Hence, the "bring it on" title of this post.

j_b, You regularly go off topic, so kiss my and get spinnin'. It's what you do best!

http://www.seattleweekly.com/features/0315/news-dawdy.php Many of you lefties are real familiar with this guy. I hope this common criminal understands the can of whoop-ass he'll bring down on his "movement" with this idea.

Hey j_b. You were a big fan of polls in the months before the war. "x-percent of Americans are against the prospect of war...", etc. You did some pretty brutal twisting of data to arrive at the notion you were in the majority. Not that polls matter much at all, but what do you think of the current polls that show 81% of Americans supporting this war and 67% approval rating for Bush? Kind of hard, even for you and SC, to twist those kind of numbers 'eh? I'm just looking forward to watching you spin these most recent figures!

I'll bet "Baghdad" Jim McDermott would like to get his hands on that Saddam statue! He could have it resurrected it in Freemont.

The darkest day in my life: The night I saw "Loverboy" at The Puyallup Fair. .....hey, we've all done things we're not proud of!

That shoe on the left looks suspiciously like one of my old "eb" rock shoes from 1982. The guy on the right kissing GW's picture is j_b. ...a little more tongue is required there, j_b.

"Backstage" was actually the dining hall at the winery. Did you get to see any of the concert?
-
First Concert: The Who in Seattle. 1981? It was their "farewell" tour and The Clash opened for them. I think most were there to see The Clash. Best Concert: "Yes" at the Woodinville Winery in 1998. I love that outdoor venue. I'm no groupie, but my wife and I had front row seats and backstage passes. After the concert we had beer/wine/snacks with Chris Squire, and Jon Anderson. Nice folks. Great music. "Alan Parsons Project" opened and sounded great too. "The Yes Album" ....one of my 'top five' all time favorites CD's.
