  1. It is about a 5 mile appr. Where the trail comes the closest to the stream is where you cross . Stay in the trees until right adjacent to the wall. Some swacking, but if you peg it it is not bad. Getting through the bottom cliff band is done just to the left of the 2 big main waterfalls, up a hidden ramp. I would bet the road is closed though and the wall is unstable with half a foot of snow now on it. This is one of those early climbs.
  2. I know you guys dont roll this way, but sorry if I stole any thunder on this one. I do get excited when I see something that looks so fun. It is interesting to have it a bit scary too, and I would consider myself very fortunate to catch ideal conditions on it. What a place we live in! There a only a few places in NA that can offer faces like that!Almost none to our south. Again, Great job and ,again, sorry, I accept my role as the class blabbermouth. I just hope it is never too annoying. :edit: In an attempt at redemption, I wanted to show a few photos from our (Rolf and I on thanks-giving weekend)attempt. It was a rain-out but I was happy to be there and honored to be asked along.

  4. A couple of proud Leavenworthies: Rolf and Caps. They did the center line with a left-right zig-zag at the top. The thing looked like Can Rocks! Rat said he will do a Tr soon. Cant wait, The early attempts by previous parties were epic

  6. After several known attempts , a great project has fallen! Buck Mt N. Face! Accessible and ferocious! It will be a test piece classic with several more lines left to be filled in. We watched it fall apart last weekend , yet yesterday it was formed up enough to send. Congrats guys , another LGP in the books!

  10. I have done very few land dives. They all occurred when I was doing stupid shit. I have the peace of knowing that if I am not involved in such practices , I will probably be ok. The freak accidents are the ones that concern me. It doesnt always work out that way though. I have a couple of friends that have not been the same since their falls.

  13. Wow, Great stuff there Kellie, Good to see this progressing! May I suggest condensing it down for the volunteering effort to highlight dates and preparations for those dates for people who are interested in getting involved in this worthy project? There is bound to be some people who will be excited about reopening the BEST CLIMBING WALL IN THE PORTLAND AREA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  24. Wow welcome back Mt Guide/ Zac! I browsed The sections on tips and food and thought it was a great effort on our own Mikes' part! There are so many tips locals have developed over the years. There isnt a "climber" here that couldnt benefit from them! Sorry though, I dont know any famous climbers. Suggestions: Sean Issac , Roger Strong, Jim Nelson,Mark Westman,Vince Anderson, Steve House, Peter Potterfield, and Colin.
