  2. Found great ice above Snow Lake today! Did the route furthest south along the Lake. Grade 2-WI3, 140m Great Skiing too with 2 feet of powder in places! You gotta go up high for ice now, but it is there for sure!!
  3. Yes ,a real President, FINALLY!
  4. And the winner is:
  5. Thanks for chiming in, I was going to stay out of this unless your party was going to respond. Since you have, I must say thank you for sharing your story. I am grateful to learn from every experience worth learning from . This is something that could happen to anyone on this medium and it is nice to know something like it is survivable. I am a veteran of huge falls too they are not easy to go through or talk about. Glad to hear that your party is fairly sound, and heal fast, Wayne
  6. It has one hell of a step low down on the ridge, Good luck
  7. Nice, Mike

  14. Oh Baby! > Nice work Ade, Cant wait for the New Alpine Ice guide.GO Dave! I have a weak effort (at the bottom of the page) going on myself. I will now steal your data.
  15. We were putting screws in all day. I dont understand why there wasnt a line of people up there?
  16. Nice route none-the less!
  17. We saw it there, a person could do the regular start and go down 10' to the block that it is placed in. I dont usually grab gear that looks suspect. I did clean a nice camalot from higher on the route that could find it owner?
  18. Trip: - NY Gully - Beware of Ice Date: 2/15/2009 Trip Report: My second foray to the North side of Snoqualamie Mountain (first) again showed how it is precariously coated with Ice. We found conditions to be both icy and slippery. We decided to try and make these routes a bit safer by using special tools to chip away some of the collections of this dangerous sheen. We found a large ice streak flowing down the normally dry New York Gully route . We did a new direct start to the route, removing some of its thin coating. The rest of the "Mixed Climb" was a mixture of snice and water ice, the most dangerous kind. Be careful if you find yourself up there. We saw Alpine Dave and friend-Dan up there taking care of the other frozen streak to the left. Markos camera may reveal this insidiousness soon
  19. Isnt that a personal question?
  20. Wow looks cool, Who knows this year? there is ice everywhere!!!
  21. Damn Snowmobilers..> Just kidding. This is sad, what kind of freaks would do that?
  22. The original vidoe was blocked, but it seems the jist of it was---here is a spoiled-hollywood-junkie-who-will-soon-die?
  23. Oh the ease of youth! Well an old fart like me thought the route was a bit tough(er)(ish)? Monkey man has a great future and recent past- for this kind of stuff! Very thrilling to think is was a new variation, but I swore I may have seen a pin scar in the chimney? I didnt get the best look at it though. Jeez. This will go down as one of the all-time alpine ice years. The normally dry -NYGully is a near "all-ice" climb right now! If it were normal economic times(?)- there would be lines on many of the great routes and many new routes put up as well! Hats off to everyones efforts ,climbing, and non-climbing efforts.
