  1. Ah But Abraxas is a free route (5.10c) isn't it. But thanks anyways. affectionately yours, PP
  2. DFA - What about Abraxas on the Monument? IS that any good. Does anyone climb that route?
  3. Years ago I climbed the start of Unfinished Symphony in the rain. Fun day. Well while it was raining. By the way I have the complete beta for free climbing that first pitch (pro and holds)if anyone wants it. I can't imagine doing one of those aid routes. Scary! But I'd sure pull out the binoculars if I ever see someone climbing one.
  4. quote: Originally posted by Lambone: Pete...the first thing you need to learn about wall climbing is that being in shape is not a requirement. That's why I do it. The only thing you need is enough whishy and smokes to make it to the top Eric- shhhhhhh.... That is because you don't have my gut!
  5. Erik - Have fun! Buy a digital cam and post pics!!! I am jealous. DFA/BRock - Have either of you two even seen anyone on one of those aid line on Picnic Lunch Wall? PP Erik did I tell you I am jealous?
  6. Everything but start with part 1
  7. Erik Sounds like my diet! Only it always starts on a Monday. Spill the beans what's the plan? PP
  8. Lambone - Don't you have to get into wall shape for the spring?
  9. I agree. I first read this thread and thought Shit why the hell did he post that here Turns out it I was overly pessimistic. By the way, I have only been there a few times but not all the rock is as funky as was made out in this thread. PP
  10. Gregw - If they are long springs they make great wall hangings those coil spring traps are just plane ugly!
  11. DFA - I am a wimp! Besides belayers are often a good source of beta! PP
  12. Ok so my winter/spring plans are to get in free climbing shape, climb a few aid lines at Index, do a couple small walls in the spring, squeeze in either a long late winter weekend Vegas or Jtree trip and to send a Smith route and then have DFA ask me for beta. What are some of your goals desires after this dark period (AKA winter) passes. PP

  14. I always thought they drove their significant others car!
  15. Why doesn't anyone ever do Masters of the UNiverse? Groovy route! As is its neighbor to the right. Or the Comb routes? But I bet those would be cold as heck! [ 11-01-2002, 03:49 PM: Message edited by: Peter Puget ]
  16. Grrrrrrrrr! PP
  17. I think it depends on the anchor. If you are either rappelling or lowering of a sling on tiny nubbin/horn/knob on a steep wall, setting up a rappel can be nearly impossible. I can think of many cases where if the lower point is ahighly directionally dependant that lowering would be the better choice. PP
  18. Need any volunteers to test drive bits of that guide you've been slaving away on? And on a more serious note what do you think D-Town will be liek this weekend? And if it good to go any places to avoid this time of year? PP
  19. Doesn't some OW have Erik written all over it? PP
  20. Not by Darrington but there is stuff by/on Persis off Hwy #2
  21. ["fear, doubt, apprehension, misgivings, etc." Hey these are all aspects of dating me! PM your number and tonight will be a wonderful climbing trip!
  22. What a bunch of wankers! I am sure you blowhards who like messing with Scott so much are barely able to climb a rock pitch harder than him and all the time talk as if you are something special. In a couple years you'll be begging him to be your rope gun! As far as his site asking for funds doesn’t frequent poster Cascadeclimber's site Mtn Community .org ask for something similar? Doesn't RC.com? You guys are ignoring the facts to get a cheap shot in at Scott. I am sure Scott set up his site imagining it to become more than it has. The request for funds page has been up for as long as I can remember with virtually no updates. It is clearly not a big part of the sight. I have looked up trips on his site and not ethat after his Observation Rock TR a lot of CC.comers made that climb their goal. Iceclimb.com site at least for Washington is definitely a great resource - it simply lists a bunch of place name.(?!?!?!) True Scott's site is limited to his own adventures but think about what a Frankenstein blend of CC.com and NWOG.org would be like. CC.com's BB combined with a series of TRs in the NWOG style and short clips would be the BEST bloody site on the web. How great would it be if Scott helped to create the non-BB part of this site! Jon, Scott and Timmy! Jon, Scott and Timmy! Affectionately yours, PP
  23. Not to mention that he climbs more than most of us! Plus his site rocks! Let me correct my earlier post and say that Johnny and Scott are the MEN! PP
