i saw firsthand how "misleading" the forecasts were when i was up in squamish for a month one summer. imho murray's better at - um - "predicting" the weather than the forecasters are. and he's quite a nice fellow.

if the grenade had been live (which it appears there was really no way of knowing), the dude holding it was not the only life at stake. the safety of the public and the other people involved is a driving factor. reduce that to $$ ... or not.

i looked up several news articles on this. it's amazing how many different "stories" you get. one article even said he was 13. but anyway, it sounds like he used the survivial skills his parents taught him to stay alive. i'm glad they found him too. alive.

well, if your own voice lacks reason then this is likely the case, but his statement isn't going to apply to everybody. i think it really depends on the person. some people will make the same decisions alone or with others -- good or bad; whereas some people are more likely to go with the status quo when not alone -- good or bad. i know that for myself, when i am "solo" i am much more aware of what's going on around me and what i am doing.
