  1. awesome pics -what great close-ups! can i ask about your camera?
  2. this is great thread. i really appreciate you guys sharing your experience. i know i could certainly stand to brush up on those skills! it obviously paid off that you spent time reviewing them before you proceeded.
  3. well, i've seen horbein speak before and i probably wouldn't recognize him if i sat at a table in front of him. i'm terrible like that! that's so great that those guys are out there being so active. i hope i'm climbing when i'm their age!!!
  4. nice work! that route looks nice. but damn, a long day, eh?
  5. honestly, i was just enjoying the show as a whole and didn't notice any routes in particular.
  6. cool. what were you doing flying around the mountain. i almost got dizzy! btw, who said, "We're closer to the mountain than the climbers are!" not sure i would agree with that one!
  7. they're banker's boxes; just not the really long ones. and letter as opposed to legal. they are like 10x12x15 or so. well, i'm small so if it's full of books i can't carry much more very far!
  8. i got tickets for the ring! woohoo!!!
  9. if you can't find enough free boxes, i highly recommend those letter-sized storage boxes you can get at an office store. they usually come in pack of several and aren't too costly. you can then use them for storing things when you're done, or else you can just unfold them and store them somewhere flat for your next move. they are great for moving books because you can fill them up and still be able to carry them.
  10. thanks. i guess i should have checked there first. DOH! anyway, found it: "Fuhrer Finger - this route is out for the season. The entrance to the chute is now a rocky waterfall and the approach up the Nisqually is heinously crevasse ridden." guess i'll be savin' that one for next year!
  11. looking for some beta - - anybody been up the finger/thumb recently? or had a good look at it?
  12. neither. just shove the bladder in there. if your jacket is tucked into your harness that will keep it from sliding out. it seems weird at first, but it won't really move once it's settled. you can even put the tube up through the collar where you can easily reach it to drink. it felt a little odd at first, but once i got going i didn't really notice it.
  13. riveting! glad you're okay!!!
  14. when ya gonna list more hexes?
  15. i used to bring too much clothes. i've since bought better clothes so i can bring less but still be warm. i also used to bring more than one top and bottom base layer. figured i wanted clean clothes for each day.
  16. i say pub club at clintoris's place - we bring the bbq and he takes us wakeboarding. WOOHOO!
  17. yeah; it'd really help us help you thin things out if you list what you take.
  18. At the mall today I heard a guy tell his wife "Hold on honey, I have to get some wife-beaters." Mesh Shirt Replaces "Wife-Beater" as Official Garment of Domestic Violence
  19. oh, and way to go
  20. looks like a beautiful day up there!
  21. umm ... yeah.
